Rayat Bahra University School of Polytechnic and Skill Development, Mohali Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College provides access to the central computing facilities and Internet access throughout the campus. An optical fiber-based 100 Mbps campus-wide area network has been implemented in the college. This network connects all the departments, hostels, and faculty residences. The latest managed layer-3 and layer-2 switches and optical fiber physical media have been used to implement this project, which currently serves some 200+ nodes in the college. The process of establishing wireless hotspots to make the campus Wi-Fi-enabled is underway. Internet Access College is connected to the Internet through a 50 Mbps Full Duplex optical fiber leased line, and this service is distributed throughout the campus through ugh campus-wide network. Computing Hardware Department has around 300+ branded HP, Wipro, and IBM desktop computers having the latest configurations to satisfy the computing requirements for various laboratories and project work of students. High-end workstations and servers have been made available for special applications like simulations and central computing in the department. Software:e: Almost all the major software required by students and researchers has been made available in the department. This includes all the major server and desktop operating systems, databases, application software, MATLAB, CASE tools like Rational RS, and software development platforms.

The College library is considered the heart as well as the index of all academic activities of the Rayat-Bahra University. It’s not merely not just a repository or any other service, but is a partner in all kinds of research activities and teaching.  The library understands the needs of students and staff; in this regard, the services can be accessed 24/7

The College has a 50 Mbps Internet connection, locally networked and connected through wi-fi also to the central server is available for students for their project work and preparing seminar presentations. With this addition, the college will provide internet and intranet access to all students and staff for instructional purposes at par with colleges internationally.

The College has adequate classrooms equipped with modern teaching and training aids with air conditioning facilities. All the modern classroom facilities, like whiteboard, Screen, Flannel board, and all necessary audiovisual equipment, are available.

The College also provides Hostel facilities for needy and long-distance students who wish to avail it. Each hostel has a healthy atmosphere for the students, who are far away from their parents. Each hostel has an activity centre, common room, reading room, dining room with a mess, canteen till late hours, and other basic amenities like hot water supply in winter. Two new hostels are under construction to provide in-house residential facilities to the aspiring students.

The College has a fleet of well-maintained buses, bringing students and staff from all important cities, towns, and villages within a radius of 60km. All drivers have mobile phones, which help to keep track of their location and delays. Every Van has a log of all the students traveling on that route and contact information of their parents.

The College ATM facility is available on the institute campus to give the students and staff of the institute, as well as the general public, a money management facility. To make banking easier for the students, 24 24-hour ATM facility has been provided inside the premises of the college. Money transactions between the parents and their children are carried out with ease. Hostel students enjoy the benefits more. BANK - The College has an extension counter of the Oriental Bank of Commerce in its premises, which caters to all banking requirements of the staff and the students.

The College Well well-equipped and fully air-conditioned First aid centre is available within the campus with well-trained medical support staff. Reputed doctors are available on call, and for Hostellers, it is available for 2 hours. An Emergency vehicle is also available round the clock.

The College Mess is situated in the premises of the Campus, and sufficient care is taken to see that healthy and wholesome food is served to all the students. Mess serves breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and dinner every day, and the weekly menu is available with the mess in charge; the menu is made by the students, and the cuisine is changed twice a month.

The College. There are basic necessity shops on the campus. Stationery shop where students can purchase stationery, toiletries, and other necessities. There is a confectionery shop, STD booth, and Xerox facility on the campus.

The College lays a great emphasis on sports and games, because ‘A sound mind resides in a sound body’. Keeping this view in mind, the infrastructure has been designed with good facilities for sports as well as recreational activities. The Institution has the best sports facilities, including Tennis Court, Basketball Courts, Badminton Courts, Volleyball Courts, Carom & Chess

The College. There is a separate gym for the boys and girls with the latest machines for their workout. Free weights, nautilus, universal, and cardiovascular machines are available, and a fitness attendant is on duty at all times. This fitness center is only available to those living in hostels.

The College is an exquisite part of the college which aims to conduct Seminars, Workshops, Symposiums, Faculty Development Programs, and Annual Day Celebrations. Interior atmosphere significantly enhances passive Cooling, while natural lighting and ventilation that surround the auditorium will provide the audience with a rejuvenating feeling.
