Roland Institute of Technology, Berhampur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a central computing facility with 30 no. of computer systems in LAN and connected to the internet. The patient Samant's central computing center is open from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm which can accommodate 30 students at a time. The day scholars and hostel students (on-campus) use this facility for the internet, preparing papers for conferences, symposiums, and preparing project documentation. The reprographic facility is also available to the students and staff. Mr. Tanaya Kumar Panda is the in-charge of the patient Samant's central computing center.

The college is having a Dispensary unit for boys and girls separately. One full-time Doctor and 2 full-time pharmacists P. Jagannath Rao and Chakradhar Sahu are looking after the students and providing them treatment and medicines as and when required. In consultation with Doctor J.Surya Rao, the pharmacists provide medical aids to the students and staff. In case of emergency, an ambulance unit is available to shift the patient to the nearest hospital which is 4k.m. away from college.

The college has a hygienic canteen for students and staff. At subsidized rate quality food is provided to staff and students (hostellers and day scholars). Around 200 students and 50 staff can avail of the canteen services at a time. A separate food court is available for the staff. The food committee regularly checks the quality of food and the food is provided at a reasonable price. As students from different states are available, dishes with different menus are provided on-demand and paid basis. The canteen is managed by the canteen in charge of Mr. Samir Kumar Padhy. The canteen is situated inside the campus which caters to the need of the fooding habits of the students and staff. The canteen is organized on a scheduling basis for the students and staff to avoid rush and congestion so that they can avail of proper services. The food prepared here is very hygienic and homely so that everyone in the college stays healthy and fit.

The college has a guest house is located inside the rit campus. A well-furnished 3BR with all facilities is made available to the guests and committee members making an academic visit to the institution. Mr.Subodh Kumar Nayak, the office superintendent is the in-charge and Mr. Tukuna Raulo is the caretaker for the guest house. Food is provided through the college canteen to the guest house.

The college's entire campus and the hostel inside the campus are Wi-Fi enabled. The students and the staff are allowed to access the internet through laptops 24/7 with 8mbps bandwidth both from reliance and Vodafone. The students interested in avail of this facility can apply through the proper channel to get an IP address.

The college has a physical fitness of the staff and students (day scholars and the hostellers) are provided with a gymnasium having minimum instruments. The physical director (sports) Mr. Rajani Kant Mishra and Mr. Bala Subudhi are taking care of the gymnasium and train the students to keep them physically fit and mentally alert. It remains open from morning 6 am to 8.45 am and again from 4 pm-6 pm in the afternoon.

The college has a Boys hostel is present near New Bus stand at the center of Berhampur which is a three-star building where more than 20 rooms are available with a big canteen and refreshment room. Sixty students are accommodating in that hostel. The hostel is having a full-time hostel warden with 24-hour security service and first aid service. Hostel Superintendent is staying with the student who is supported by Chief Superintendent.

The college has Girls Hostel is present inside the college campus which is a three-star building where thirty rooms are available with a canteen and refreshment room. Ninety students can accommodate in this hostel. The hostel is having a full-time hostel warden with 24-hour security service and first aid service. Hostel Superintendent is staying with the student who is supported by Chief Superintendent.

The college has a transportation department is headed by the transportation manager Mr. Debendra Sahu. He is the in-charge of the scheduling and routing of buses from Berhampur to the college campus. The institution has the advantage of being situated just beside NH5. Town busses and OSRTC buses ply at regular intervals of time. In addition to that, the institution has provided 17 buses for students and 2 buses for the staff. In addition, 4 cars are available for the principal, management. One dedicated vehicle is available for examinations and other academic activities. Buses in 4 different routes in and around Berhampur start at 7.45 am and leave the campus by 5.10 pm. The nearest railway station, Berhampur is 12 k.m. away from the institution, and the nearest international airport Bhubaneswar is around 160k.m. from the institution.

The college has SBI/ICICI bank ATM and the extension counter is opening shortly on the campus. DTDC Courier facility is available on campus.

This college has a number of sports activities conducted uniformly during the semesters, the institution has provided special cricket ground, football ground, basketball court, badminton court, throw the ball, and a number of indoor games like table tennis, carom, chess. Annual cricket tournament is conducted and the students are awarded prize money and testimonials during the republic day and annual function bloom.

The College has an ac seminar hall of 500 sitting capacity and an auditorium of 400 sitting capacity equipped with audio-video, internet, and teleconferencing facilities. The sir M. Visvesvaraya AC seminar hall is well equipped where webinars and video conferencing are done in collaboration with IIT Mumbai under the ICT NME scheme.

The college has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has a well-equipped library stacking more than 21,000 volumes of choice books in various engineering subjects, management, basic sciences, and general. The library subscribes to more than 600 periodicals. Besides, the library has back volumes of periodicals. The service provided by the library includes Lending service, Reference service, Internet Browsing, Current Awareness Service (CAS).

The reprographic facility such as photocopy, lamination, and printing facilities are provided to the students at the library, Surya Xerox center, and various departments also. The institution provides photocopy and printing facilities to students at concessional rates. The institution is planning to open a co-operative store to provide stationary and other eatables at no profit and no loss basis. Postal service and extension counter at the Main building. DTDC Courier facility is available on campus.
