Hi yash, Considering your rank you there is a fair chance that you can get into some lower branches in both upes and PDPU. You can wait for last round to upgrade your branches as high possibilities are there. So don't missout the registration process. Do participate in the counselling. UPES also take its entrance exam it has major portion of intake so i will suggest you to give that exam too if you are here in UPES for petroleum engineering :)

hope it will help you. FOR MORE QUERY COMMENT BELOW AND UPVOTE :)

Hello Lavanya!

Considering your marks in CLAT 2019, you may get admission in UPES Dehradun. As per the past year observations and analysis Generally a score above 90 and a rank upto is10000  decent enough for admission here. Admissions depend upon the cutoff of entrance examination, no. of applications and total vacant seats available with the university.

Since the cut-offs have been high this year, much can not be predicted. You can contact the admission authorities and the university for more details.

All the best!

Hello Shivani!

The private Universities you have mentioned for Law i.e Nirma University, Kirti.P Mehta School of law and UPES Dehradun are the most looked for universities after the NLUs.

For Nirma University and Kirti P. Mehta School of law, a rank upto 5000 is good enough for admission. And for UPES rank upto 8000 are good enough.

Since these are private universities, it has been observed that if there are vacant seats available then ranks for admissions have been stretched to 10000 and sometimes 15000 as well.

Considering your rank and these trends you have fair chances of admission in either of these.

For more details you can contact their admission forums through their official websites.

All the best!

Which college you should go for ,should totally depend upon your personal choice. I can just tell you some comparable points about these two colleges , considering you want to pursue BBA LLB:

BBA LLB in Symbiosis Law School, Noida has lower fees

UPES is NAAC accreditated.

UPES is UGC approved while SLS is BCI approved only.

SLS , noida doesn't have a boys hostel.

The main difference that SLS is just a college but UPES is in itself a university.

For more information about these colleges , follow the given link :

See, if you are interested in oil related fields then no matters UPES is the best option. Their petroleum engineering is the best reputed branch of Engineering throughout India.
But as you are interested in Computer Science, then JECRC will be better to choose. For CSE branch, Jecrc is one of the top colleges. You can take admission but your future is only in your hands. Placements at JECRC University is one strong point, that they have near about 100% placement track record for computers with renowned companies.
Good luck....

Hello Vishavjit,

There is no comparison between THAPSR CSE and UPES DEHRADUN petroleum. The recent world is running towards tge technology field and so is the demand for CSE branch is increasing. Now coming to the placement,

  • 70% placement in petroleum in UPES.
  • 92% placement in CSE at Thapar

This is the first part, now lets compare the average salary and highest salary.

  • UPES - 3 LPA AVERAGE, 12 LPA      HIGHEST.
  • THAPAR - 9LPA AVERAGE, 30-32 LPA HIGHEST

The above mentioned salary are only for petroleum and CSE.

By now you know what is better.

I hope you will find my answer helpful.

All the best.
