Admission to college of engineering, Pune takes place through both JEE MAINS marks and CET marks as well. But through JEE MAINS, you need decent marks in it and also in boards you need 75% and above for general category. And MHT CCET score merit based can give you admission to COE, Pune as well and boards criteria for general unreserved category is 50% and above in boards.

Check out JEE and CET eligibility criteria below -

Also since COE PUNE is a government colleges, it has decently high cutoffs comparatively like above 170 in CET and above 180 in MAINS (JEE).

Best wishes. Thank you.

Dear aspirant,

According to your question and taking into consideration that you are from general category and your jee mains percentile was 95.13. So,it would be a bit difficult to get this college in mechanical branch as the cut off is a bit high.

A minimum of 96 percentile is needed as it would be a safer side to be on.

Three of your Options are very Comparable. If you have plans to go for a Masters or Postgraduation in future, COEP can be a very good option providing in depth Technical Education. As far as Placements are concerned, Civil Engineering at COEP has almost 70% placements.

However from Placement as well as Career aspect, I believe a degree in Mechanical Engineering will be more effective than Civil as far as career scope and prospects are concerned. SPCE Mumbai too is an excellent Technical Institutes in Maharashtra next to COEP and VJTI and has good infrastructure, faculty, research facilities and an excellent employer outlook. Being located near Industrial Hubs at Mumbai and Pune provide strong scope and impetus in training and placement prospects. Mechanical in general has more scope in both Private and Public Sector. Among PSUs, almost all Enterprises have vacancies under Mechanical Engineering annually through GATE.

Hi Umesh!

College of Engineering, Pune, does not consider JEE Main marks for its Admission! First of all, you must be a resident of Maharashtra, as COEP gives 100% priority to Maharashtrians. They predominantly accept MHT CET Scores for Admission. Below are the Cut Off of MHT CET for COEP:

  • Round 1 - 179
  • Round 2 - 177
  • Round 3 - 176

Hope this is helpful!

All the best!

Dear aspirant,

As you said you have got 96.07 percentile in jee mains 2020 and considering you are from defence category with 60 rank in state, i would say it's a bit difficult to get cse in coep and vjti as the seats are very less in this category and no one could predict exactly if you will get or not as there are different number of candidates from this category who apply in this category.

I am providing you the link for coep and vjti for more information regarding cut off-

Hi Aspirant,

You need to give MHT CET in order to get into College of engineering since the college intakes students through the rank scored in that exam. For the last few years the cutoff for getting into this college is about 170 for general cutoff by score. So this is the cutoff for last year and it remains almost same for last few years.

Hope it helps!!

Hi Aspirant,

The college of engineering is a good choice since the college is really good in all perspectives. The college assures over 98% placements in CS AND IT branches and almost 70% placements in civil, mechanical and other such branches. This college has fantastic infrastructure with wifi facilities and highly modernised labs and classroom. Moreover the faculty members are way too good, helpful and all are Phd degree holders. So it is a good choice as a college to study.

Hope it helps!!

Hi Aspirant,

If you are talking of infrastructure both the college are equally good in terms of infrastructure and other modern facilitites. However Amity Noida is slightly better in terms of infrastructure because the college has large campus, fully AC classrooms and has many famous brands like Starbucks in canteen along with gym facilitites.Playground and classrooms are well maintained.

Hope it helps!!

College Infrastructure

The labs and their corresponding equipment are of the highest quality and majority of the faculty are experienced professionals. Classrooms are mediocre in terms of design and comfort as is the WiFi network. Libraries and sports facilities are good. Canteen is clean and hygienic however the Boat Club canteen could do with some work.

Best Engineering College Ever
