Dear aspirant,Kudos on clearing JEE Mains exam. This answer is solely on my perspective. On comparing both the colleges NIT-warangal is far better than COEP,but while comparing branches Mechanical is much better than biotechnology based on many factors. But if you seriously inclined toward biotech branch you must go for NIT Warangal. But according to my perspective NIT warangal biotechnology is better than coep mechancial.

Admission Procedure:

  1. Online application form for aspiring candidates is available at the website www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/me2016 by paying the application processing fees. The fees are different for different types of applicants and may change with time.
  2. The candidate is required to take a print out of the Application Processing Fee receipt, which is generated automatically after online payment of fees.
  3. An application ID and Password is generated after payment of fees. The candidate should Log In into his account and fill the application form online.
  4. The candidate is required to take a print-out of the Online Application Form and get it verified at the nearest Facilitation Centre (FC). He/She should produce his/her Original 10th, 12th, B.Tech/B.E certificates, print-out of the Application Processing Fee receipt and all other required documents during the verification process. This will confirm his/her application and he/she will be entitled to receive a “Receipt-cum-Acknowledgement” with sign and seal of the FC officer. Once application is confirmed, no details can be changed.
  5. Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates are required to get their documents verified in person at a FC in Maharashtra only!
  6. The Provisional Merit List of all the different types of candidates will be displayed on the DTE website according to the schedule.
  7. If a candidate encounters any discrepancy in the provisional merit list, for example, spelling mistake in name, wrong entry of marks to be considered, increase in marks due to re-evaluation etc., the candidate should get the corrections done by lodging the grievance in-person at ARCs within the period specified in the schedule.
  8. After this in a couple of days the final merit list will be displayed on the website.
  9. Considering his/her relative position in the Final Merit list, the candidate should fill minimum 1 and maximum 300 choices of institutes, in the correct order, through their login. The candidate is required to confirm the order of the choices himself/herself and not from the FC officer. This should be done before the CAP Round 1.
  10. According to the schedule, Provisional Allotment of CAP Round 1 will be displayed on the website, accessible to the candidate through his login.
  11. The candidates who have been allotted a college and are satisfied with their allotment are required to Report and Accept the offered seat at one of the Admission Receipt Centers. If a candidate is not satisfied with his/her allotment, he/she can go to the next round by reporting at one of the Admission Receipt Centers, and following the necessary steps.
  12. In a few days the number of seats available for CAP Round 2 (per institute and per category) are displayed on the website.
  13. Steps 10, 11 and 12 are repeated for a total of 3 or 4 rounds (subject to change ever year).
  14. A candidate is not required to fill the option form for each and every CAP Round.
  15. Once the last CAP round is over, vacant seats remaining in Autonomous and Government colleges are displayed on the DTE website. Based on these vacancies an Additional Round is conducted. All those who have got a seat as well as those who have not got a seat are eligible for this round. The candidate is required to fill the Option Form again for this round. Reservation for any category is not applicable for this round. Thus, this is the only round based on Pure Merit.
  16. If a candidate previously holding a seat gets allotted a new seat through the additional round, he has no option but to accept the new seat. He/she loses his old seat.

Hi Himanshu,

I would suggest you go through the last year cutoffs of the first round of CAP Process on the following link.

Https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/mht-cet-cutoff (For all rounds)

Make sure you look for proper cutoffs according to Quota (General-G, L-Ladies, TFWS, etc), category (Open, OBC, SC, ST, etc) and home or other university.

It would be easy if you go according to the marks obtained to look for cutoffs.

Best of Luck!

Hi,

Yes, your PMB marks are eligible to be considered as group marks instead of PCM, as it has been clearly stated that you should have physics and maths as compulsory subjects with one amongst chemistry or biology or biotechnology, or vocational or technical subject to form a group.

For more information, you can visit this link https://info.mahacet.org/MHT-CET-2019/Draft-Copy-of-MHT-CET-2019-Information-Brochure-for-Engg_Tech_Pharmacy_Pharm.D..pdf

Apart from this, you have a good percentile. For cutoffs please visit https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/mht-cet-cutoff

COEP is one of the oldest colleges in the country and is well estabilished IIIT Guwahati is a new institute which is still developing. Both these colleges have there respective advantages as well as disadvantages and it is upto you as to which one you wish to choose according to your preference and what you are getting at the two colleges. Hope this helps.

It's right that you fall under category but this marks are less to fetch you the mentioned colleges  but still you apply for the same you might get a seat in last rounds of the counselling

It is a good experience

College Infrastructure

The labs and their corresponding equipment are of the highest quality and majority of the faculty are experienced professionals. Classrooms are mediocre in terms of design and comfort as is the WiFi network. Libraries and sports facilities are good. Canteen is clean and hygienic however the Boat Club canteen could do with some work.

Best Engineering College Ever
