I would advise you to join ETC at IIEST Shibpur and prefer it above EE. ETC has Placements at par with IT and CSE and much better than EE. Secondly, ETC is a really nice branch with balanced Academic Load, you can pursue your interests be it Data Science, GATE/CAT
Hi,

IIEST for btech mechanical engineering is a good choice. It has a overall student rating of 4.1/5 and has good positive reviews as well.
Just a slight drawback is that students have mentioned that the campus is old and infrastructure has not been

Hi Sagnik,
Congratulations on your score. Well, judging from your percentile, your rank tends to be somewhere between 85657-115045. Hence, analyzing from previous years' cutoffs as well as keeping your rank in mind, it will be somewhat tough for you to get a seat in Metallurgical or Aerospace Engineering discipline
Dear aspirant,
Hope you secured a good rank in JEE mains. The institutions you have mentioned were counted as one of the good institutions for engineering courses.

IIEST SHIBPUR
Electronic & Telecommunication Branch The placements are good enough. Almost 65-70% of students
See as you are an EWS student then the income aspects of your family is already satisfied. Now if we consider the salary range then also you are not eligible for any scholarship or economical weak student schemes. So essentially you may not need the certificate. But I would advise
Hi,
Last year the closing rank for Aerospace Engineering in IIEST -Shibpur was around 4000 SC Rank for other state students. Taking this cutoff in consideration, it is Difficult to get Aerospace Engineering in IIEST. However you could get this branh if there were seats left for Special round councelling
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur has a large and peaceful campus with modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, a big library, sports facilities, hostels, and greenery all around. The college gives students a good environment for study, research, and campus life.
A bit old but has classy British era vibes feels you are in a different era , quite and peaceful. Festivals are a joy here , culture is the best thing you get here and learn things apart from regular studies.
I find the campus historical and beautiful, but the buildings are visibly very old and need modernization. My Electronics and Telecommunication labs have basic equipment, but I look forward to better instruments in later years. The library resources are vast and excellent for my studies. I know the infrastructure is average, but the heritage value is high.
