Thank you. I hope this answer helps you.

Hello aspirant ,

If you are interested in electronics then my opinion is that you should choose ece branch (ece nit Srinagar) Because nowadays the scope in ece is increasing.

Also Civil branch is a good one (civil nit Agartala) If you don't mind for living other city for 4 years.

These are just suggestions, if you are interested in the rest of your preferences, you can also consider it.

All the best for your Future !

Hi

This is difficult to make prediction as  cutoff  depends upon various factors like :-

-----------) number of students/ candidates  that appeared in the  jee main exam,

-----------) number of available seats,

-----------) performance of different students in the examination,

-----------) the branch you want,

-----------) the category you belong etc.

Anyway,

When we go through previous year trend then

With 54650 rank,

In josaa counselling, your chances in NITs, IIITs, or even IIEST is  a bit low. When we go through past year trend then even for lower nits your rank should have been around 50k.  IITs provide admission through jee advanced.

But yes,

You have chances in GFTIs,  as per round 6th , 2020 in josaa counselling , some if which are listed  below:-

  • School of Engineering, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur:- ECE :-58671

  • Mizoram University, Aizawl:- electrical engineering:-62907

  • National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology, Hatia, Ranchi:- Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 62323

And more

You can check the closing ranks  at official website of josaa by going through the link given below

Hello arnab mondal

hope you are doing well and safe. With reference to your query,  I would glad inform you that NIT durgapur would be a better option as its holds 29 rank in nirf ranking . As nits falls under tier-1colleges and have very very strong brand name which leads to strong alumni network which have great ability to iinvite big companies for placements . The average package goes around 9 lakhs and highest went upto 33 lakhs

Hope you found this answer informative. Best wishes for your future

Hi Soumen,

Hope you are doing good. The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur is under the NIT council and it admits students based on JEE Main rankings. Earlier it used the WBJEE rankings to admit students. So, it never took admission of students based on marks obtained in class 12.

Hope this helps.

Hello Aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned your category so considering it as General.

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing ST rank for IIEST Shibpur was :-

  • Computer Science and Engineering  branch - 2783 (Home state quota)

So you have quite low or almost no chances to get IIEST Shibpur with CSE branch even if you have Home state quota.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Less people across India are aware of the Magnificence of IIEST Shibpur, being One of the best and Oldest Colleges in Eastern India, much before IIT Kharagpur was established. Hence mostly you find students from West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand as well as Nearby States at IIEST.

Secondly, candidates usually prefer a seat in NITs over any GFTI. True, Placements in NITs are much stronger, but if your Aim is Research or Academia in future or be it moving to US for a MS/PhD or even if its MTech from IITs in Future, IIEST is the Place to be, with its excellent faculty and curriculum, strong alumini network and research facilities besides various Tie Ups on Projects with IIT Kharagpur and Other Top Universities. Many of the IIEST Students after Graduation move to US for PhD, hence you find dedicated study groups. Apart from this, you even have strong Placements nowadays, with the Industry rising in the Eastern part of India. Top Recruiters like PwC, TCS, Infosys, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Tata BSL, Tata Motors and many others are regular on campus.

Yes, its a Good Place for Architecture, with one of the Oldest Architecture Departments in India. Apart from strong faculty, studios and infrastructure, you even have some scope for Placements in Non Core Sector Firms, along with Engineering Undergraduates, though low chances. Incase, youre determined to move abroad for a Masters in Agriculture or maybe MBA after B.Arch hence  Preparation, IIEST is the Perfect Place to be. Incase youre unable to secure a Place in some of he Good SPA's, NITs for Architecture, IIEST must be preferred.

For more information and Reviews about B.Arch at IIEST do follow the link below

College Infrastructure

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology situated in Shibpur Having good infrastructure.Certainly lacks the facility & infrastructure of a top notch institute (refers to my dept.-archi), and heard a lot of complaints from my B.Tech friends about the placement department, which I presume is true to a large extent, although the new INI tag will be able to solve the problem, hopefully. But, students here get one hell of an experience of the hostel life, senior-junior relationship is something we learn to treasure and cherish.

Good college

College Infrastructure

Our college having great infrastructure with all the facilities are available. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.

It was pretty good experience.

College Infrastructure

Great Infrastructure but placements should be improved as there was no placement in 2020 for Applied Geology. I am pretty sure the engineering departments are very much good at infrastructure but the university authorities must pay attention t the science departments as well.
