ISAT IIST test was an entrance test conducted for the B.Tech admissions into Indian Institutes for Space and Technology. However, this exam was scrapped off in 2013-14. Now, for admissions into IIST, the scores of JEE Advanced is taken into consideration.

IIST is one of the best institutions to pursue Aerospace Engineering and Avionics Engineering courses in India. Indian Institute of Space and Technology offers 3 under graduate programs in-

1. B.Tech Aerospace Engineering ( 4 Years )

2. B,Tech Avionics ( 4 Years )

3. 5 years Dual Degree course ( B.Tech + M.E / M.Tech )

The eligibility criteria for pursuing the above courses in this college is that the candidate should have scored at least 75% in 10+2 or equivalent examination and has obtained a valid cutoff score in JEE Advanced.

The course fees for under graduation course is INR 48,400/- per annum.

The placements of IIST is excellent. Till date, around 84 companies have visited IIST campus for recruitment. Some major companies which visited its campus are- Wipro, UTC Aerospce, TCS, Tata Advanced systems, Phillips, Mercedes Benz, Intel, Airolab Opticals, etc. The excellent candidates have a chance of working in ISRO, DRDO, etc. Around 951 students have been placed in IRSO from 2011 to 2019.

IIST B.Tech Admission will be done on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. As per the eligibility belonging to the general category you must have scored at least 75 % aggregate marks and belonging to SC/ST you should have scored at least 65% aggregate marks.

The marks scored in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks: Physics Chemistry Mathematics
A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered) ,Any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks will be considered) .

You can't be called a scentieat after compeltion of any course from NISER, you can be called as researcher and that too if you do Ph.D from there and you can possibly get a jobs in BARC afterwards but not in ISRO,NASA etc.Getting jobs in ISRO,NASA etc require you to crack exams which they conduct or you can apply when they will offer vacancy.What job you may get depends on factors like what course you have studied in your undergraduate or master's.

Hey,You should be be/B.tech student of engineering college for applying for engineer/scientist post.So you should give jee main and jee advanced examination for pursing be/b.tech.Other good private engineering institute exams are Vitee ,bitset.So prepare for this competitive examination first. IIST is also take admission through jee main,ugc net. Thank you.

The admission in IIST, Thiruvananthapuram is based on merit in JEE advanced.So you must qualify JEE advanced.The below are the minimum aggregate which a candidate must score in JEE advanced Category wise

  • General category- A minimum aggregate of 20% in JEE advanced and atleast 5% aggregate subject wise in JEE advanced
  • OBC- A minimum aggregate of 18% in JEE advanced and atleast 4.5% aggregate in each subject
  • SC/ST/PwD- A minimum of 10% aggregate in JEE advanced and atleast 2.5% aggregate in individual subjects in JEE advanced

Yes, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology take admission on the basis of marks scored in jee mains.
However it also takes admission on the basis of jee advanced marks.
IIST BTech cutoff os the minimum marks required for admission in this institute.
Candidate who score above the cutoff marks become eligible for admission while who don't have advanced score equivalent to IIST cutoff will have lesser chance of admission.

No, one cannot apply for IIST, Thiruvananthapuram on basis of merit in 10+2. The admission is based on merit in JEE advanced. A candidate must have appeared JEE main and JEE advanced.And this Institute has prescribed the cut off for admission. Only those who have secured the minimum cut off are eligible to apply and the cut off is as follows
  • General category- candidate must have atleast 20% aggregate in JEE advanced and minimum 5% aggregate in each subject in JEE advanced.
  • EWS/OBC-NCL- Candidate must have atleast 18% aggregate in JEE advanced and minimum of 4.5% aggregate in each subject in JEE advanced.
  • SC/ST/PwD- a candidate must have atleast 10% aggregate in JEE advanced and minimum of 2.5% aggregate in each subject in JEE adadvanced.
Apart from this a candidate must have passed 10+2 with atleast 75% aggregate (candidate belonging to general category) and 65% aggregate (candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD) with Mathematics, Physics, chemistry and any language from a recognised board or university.

The college is a well equipped one in terms of necessary infrastructure of the academic and non-academic domains of its body. The academic body is having a big tech based central library, well equipped laboratories of different fields. The lecture halls are big, smart tech based. The whole campus is served with a super fast WIFI services. Hostels are big and well maintained. There is a central gym, sports court, recreation hall, amphitheater, basket ball court, cricket ground as part of sports.
