Hello,

The cut off changes every year depending on various factors such as total number of candidates applied for the counselling, difficulty level of examination, top rank, merit and total number of seats available etc. Last year the cut off (IIST UG ADMISSION-RANK-2020) was as follows for admission to B.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) in IIST

  • General: 775
  • EWS: 172
  • OBC: 473
  • SC: 204

The JEE Advanced 2020 cut off marks was as follows

  • General: 29.30%
  • EWS: 24.75%
  • OBC: 21.72%
  • SC: 10.35%

The total marks for JEE Advanced will change every year. The marks vs rank also varies every year. You have not mentioned your category assuming that you belong to general category you need to score minimum 29-34% of total marks in JEE Advanced in order to get seat in IIST in B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering).

To check the previous year cut off click on the link below

https://www.iist.ac.in/admissions/undergraduate

According to the open and closing percentages for aerospace engineering at iist is about 17 percent though a bit higher than this and total marks of paper was 366 so according to that you might not be able to get into iist aerospace or for that matter any branch at iist hence you should either reappear next year for jee adv or go with aerospace from some other college.

Hey aspirant,

If you are inclined towards IT sector then only you should consider B.Tech in CSE from other colleges.

But IIST is a very premium college in terms of exposure, campus life and getting experience.

IIST also has a brand value which will enable you in building a good career.

Hope this helps
