Hello Aspirant,

Both these institutes are highly reputed and offers a very rich learning experience. But when you consider the year of establishment of the institutions , studying in BHU can be considered very precious. Also ,when it comes to college facilities , again BHU scores a point over National post graduate college. The university has got several  collaborations with global universities for research activities. BHU has many more Wi-Fi campus, shuttle service, auditorium, music room, dance room and convenience store etc. Now coming to factors like infrastructure , placements , faculties  etc , both seems to be more or less the same. So if you have a chance to be a part of BHU and is keen on the name and fame of the college ,sure you can go for it,BHU is indeed a popular choice among students especially for undergraduate courses,so if you have an opportunity ,need not waste it . Anyways I would suggest you to further research and compare both according to your convenience before deciding.

Remember more than the college your passion and dedication towards the chosen area matters when it comes to the possibility of a bright future.College is just going to be a supporting system or a launch pad . So focus on that.

All the best!!

I believe as far as Metallurgical Engineering is concerned , IIT BHU being an older technical institute with experienced faculty, good research facilities and industry connections would be a better choice. Even if later on you develop interest in Non Core fields like AI and Software, IIT BHU will provide a sea of opportunities. As far as Metallurgical Engineering is concerned companies like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Vedanta, Reliance, Jindal are regular recruiters at IIT BHU.

IIT Roorkee- NIRF ranking of this institute is 12. It is established recently, in the year 2001. The total intake is about 1816 students per year against a faculty of 416. The institute offers all the basic amenities from hostel to gym. It offers 11 courses in B.Tech.

IIT BHU- NIRF ranking of this college is one rank higher than IIT Roorkee, i.e 11. It was established way earlier, in the year 1919. The total student intake is 2261 against a faculty of about 293. This institute too offers all the basic necessaties.

IIT Dhanbad ranks 12th with NAAC rate AAA+. The student intake for B.Tech programme is 973 against a faculty of 324

Dear student,

Hello aspirant,

I would suggest you go for either JNTU Kakinada or Andhra University. Both are top colleges for Engineering. CSE branch has a good scope for placement opportunities. Good companies come for placement in these colleges. They also offer good packages. Andhra University College has a good rank too. Cutoff goes a little higher for these colleges. These are good choices.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi aspirant,

The cutoff marks varies every year it depends upon number of candidates, number of average seats and difficulties of question paper.

According to previous years cutoff. Yo u need to score at least 150 to 200 marks to get admission in BHU if you belong to OBC category. With 110 marks it seems little difficult to get admission in BHU.

Hope this information will help you.

Best of luck.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of this IIT needs to be improved as far as other IITS are concerned. We will find decent hostels situated on campus. It also has its own mess, which provides decent food. Classrooms are also well-equipped with modern facilities. Here, the library has very limited capacity so it needs to be expanded.
