Amity University | M.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked amongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings).
Hello dear ,
According to your percentile in jee mains your general rank will be close to 1.3 lakh and with this rank you will not able to get seat in any NIT or computer science engineering in IIIT.
Hello,
I understand IIITs have comparatively higher fees than IITs and NITs. One more disadvantage you can consider is IIITs do not provide fee waiver as expressed by MHRD like NITs and IITs. Same is the case with IIIT Sri City. Fees might be felt too high but the good news is it is one of the institutes of national importance and thus student loans are very easy to take. It provides support for the Vidya Laxmi scheme of the central government. It is also eligible for various state government scholarships which can be availed.
But considering the fee waiver, It does not provide any fee waiver. I am attaching the link to the page in their official website for detailed information.

Thank You
hey khushboo
first of all if you have got your scholarship from your college/university then you will not going to get it in the iiits as many rules might have change there but if you have applied from national scholarship portal or state scholarships then you can surely renew it
Hello,
It is very impractical to list down placement statistics of all the IIITs or GFTIs due to the sheer number of colleges and branches offered. But I would try my best to give you a general idea of placements.
Coming to the IIITs, The courses which are offered have a huge demand in the industry and thus most of the students in any of the IIITs get placed easily. You might not get your dream companies and companies like Google and Microsoft might not go to the newest of IIITs. Still for the sake of a number, on any average IIIT, You can easily secure 7 LPA CTC. For example, even the new IIIT of Guwahati posted avg package of 6.8 LPA.
Now coming to GFTIs, I would tell you about BIT Mesra, the placement is again on par with above numbers but the trick is you are sure to be get placed only if you are in CSE, ECE, EEE or any other coding related branches. Other branches face a lot of difficulty in getting placed.
So final verdict is as you go down from top IIITs, the package goes down from 15 LPA to 5 LPA in the lowest IIITs and GFTIs. But the chances of getting placed is more in IIITs due to the branches offered. I hope I cleared your doubts, still feel free to comment below.
Thank You
Hello Santosh,
You have a very decent rank for the General-EWS category and this rank can certainly land you a seat in some of the premier institutes of India including some IIITs, GFTIs and even some of the NITs. Though won't be getting top IIITs like Hyderabad and Bangaluru. You can most certainly get IIITs like Lucknow, Sri City, Trichy, etc.
Coming to the second part of the question, I would advise you to go for IIITs above GFTIs. Still, since you have specifically asked, currently the best GFTI taking admission through JEE Mains is BIT Mesra and you can easily get branches like Chemical, Production and even Civil (if you are lucky). You can easily slide to upper branches after that.

Hello Sneha,
It is a bit misleading when you are saying CSE group, I would be considering you are talking about Computer Science branch. Also, I would be considering the rank to be CRL, I am glad to tell you this rank in JEE Mains is enough for you to secure a seat in one of the best IIITs in the country with CSE branch. Of course, IIIT Hyderabad is a bit far fetched, but you can definitely get IIITs like Allahabad, Lucknow, and other lower IIITs with CSE.
I am inserting the article for you to check previous year cutoffs for different top IIITs which are possible to achieve from JoSAA counselling.

I hope you get the college and branch of your choice.
Thank You.
Hi Mohit,
You will not be able to get the CSE branch in NIT Goa or NIT Uttrakhand if you are not from the Home State because of previous year cutoffs.
But, if you belong to the home state, then you can get CSE in NIT Goa or NIT Uttrakhand based on your SC category rank.
As far as IIIT Gwalior is concerned, you will easily get the 5-year Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech/MBA course based on the cutoff for previous years for SC category candidates.
If I have to choose, I would pick CSE in any NIT because the placements are better and the future is better.
You can check the cutoff for NIT Goa, NIT Uttrakhand, and IIIT Gwalior of previous years from the given links-

Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
Hey there, you have scored 40747 ranks in JEE MAINS and you also scored 93.7% in Class 12 Boards. Sorry to say but you will not be able to get admission in any IIIT and even not in GFTI for CSE Branch. But yes at this rank you can get admission in a good college.
I would rather suggest you check the colleges available for you at these marks at College Predictor at Careers 360 only and it will be very helpful for you while getting a seat there. It will be very helpful for you as it will show the best colleges available for you according to your category and even home state rank.
As a third year B-tech student i have spent two years on campus and want to share my honest experience. Our college boasts a spacious and well maintained campus spread across around 30 acres. The main academic block are clean and fully functional with essential labs and new tech ,modern classrooms equipped with projectors and comfort seating there are also designated seminar halls and conference rooms on the ground floor of academic block. The academic block is mainly divided into 3 blocks, Block A, B and C including a very large and useful library in B block. Hostels are very close to academic block most of the hostel blocks consist of 9 floors each floor consists of 7 rooms with 6 three student rooms and 1 four student room. there is also single room hostels from second year but limited entries depending on CGPA of students. Hostel Mess is inside the hostel in ground and 1st floors. There is also a college canteen, Nescafe outlet (functioning up to 2 am ) and a stationary store inside campus. Whole campus including hostels is equipped with high speed WIFI up to a speed of 350mbps. The campus and hostels are maintained clean and tidy .Food is not the best and non native students find it difficult to maintain but there are other options plenty because mess fee is weekly and optional.
College infrastructure is overall good as it's just 23 acres but it is well maintained. All the required classes and labs are present in the academic block area. We have a large sports ground for football and cricket also.
College infrastructure is quite good there is lot of greenery in our college. Building are a bit old. Rooms are okayish i would say(enough for a person) college is small, it extends upto 30 acres. Overall it is not much bad
