i got 6880 rank in jee mains can i get nit or iiit ( st category)

Hi mujib ,
Yes you can definetly get seats into nit or iiits but in nits you might get into top nits with any of core branches .
Reputed Nits that you can take admission are nit surat , nit roulkela , nit bhopal , nit nagpur , nit kurukshetra. With this nits all north east nits you are eligible to get admission with core branches.

In almost all iiits you can take admission. So some of reputed iiits that you can take admission are iiit bhopal, iiit sricity , iiit guwahati , iiit kancheepuram iiit nagpur .

Hello,

This is the first time the ews category has ever been implented so no one really has a clarity about this. So I suggest you to participate in the counselling fill out your options, when the results of the first round comes out you will have a vague idea about and you can go from there.

Is it allowed to leave engineering colleges like nit and iiit if I get selected for NDA?

If you are interested in joining NDA then yes you can but then there is no reason to leave engineering before you are sure with NDA selection.Yes you can leave your college anytime but before that be sure and consult with your family then take a strong decision.

The admission authority will release the cutoff for top B.Tech branches of NITs for the admission of candidates in different NITs through JEE Main.

Factors determining the NITs cutoff for top B.Tech branches

Total number of applications received for the admission in the institute
Total number of candidates appearing for the JEE Main exam
Number of B.Tech seats available
The difficulty level of the JEE Main 2019 exam

Hello sir, my JEE MAIN AIR is 76775. Can I get any NIT or IIIT with this rank? Also my EWS rank is 9445

Hello Arvind,

According to your AIR, you can expect a very few NITs but I am sorry to say but IIIT Bhubaneshwar is not possible. The cutoff for IIIT Bhubaneshwar is around 40000 max.

And since EWS is being implemented from this year itself, it is not possible to predict the cutoff for EWS category.

I am enclosing a list of possible NITs you may get with your AIR -

NIT Srinagar - Material and Metallurgical Engg.
NIT Mizoram - Mechanical Engg.
NIT Sikkim - Civil Engg.
NIT Meghalaya - Civil Engg.
NIT Agartala - Production Engg.

You can only expect to get a few NITs that too the ones of N E India which aren't good.

I would suggest either you apply to other private colleges or take a year drop and repeat for next year.

If you have qualified JEE ADVANCED then only you are capable of getting admission in IIT's
But you have a nice score in JEE Mains.you can easily get top NIT's

Is sports quota eligible for nit and Iiit's

Hi natwa ,
No there is no sports quota in any nit or iit .
Even no engineering colleges accept sports quota as sports quotas are apllicable till 12th standards .
There are only caste quota some have defence quota , migrant quota , NRI quota , single girl child quota and no more quotas are given .

Your chancea are almost nil. But you may have to get into branches like biotech.

National institutes of technology but they wont be the 1st or 2nd tier. You can aim for the 3rd tier NITs which are not so bad either. But if you have given any other entrance exam, keep your options open.

You can try the following north east nits

Nit mizoram

Nit arunachal pradesh

Etc

Hello there,
With a rank of 9635 through SC category you can get both iiit and NIT colleges. To get CSE and E&C branch and to get top NIT colleges your rank should be within 3-5k. With a rank of 9635 you can get all branches in mid to low tier NIT colleges. You can get admission in IIIT colleges such as IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, IIIT Delhi and others. Also there are colleges which accept jee main percentile for admission such as BITS, MIIT, SCIT, Amity university and many others.

College Infrastructure

As a third year B-tech student i have spent two years on campus and want to share my honest experience. Our college boasts a spacious and well maintained campus spread across around 30 acres. The main academic block are clean and fully functional with essential labs and new tech ,modern classrooms equipped with projectors and comfort seating there are also designated seminar halls and conference rooms on the ground floor of academic block. The academic block is mainly divided into 3 blocks, Block A, B and C including a very large and useful library in B block. Hostels are very close to academic block most of the hostel blocks consist of 9 floors each floor consists of 7 rooms with 6 three student rooms and 1 four student room. there is also single room hostels from second year but limited entries depending on CGPA of students. Hostel Mess is inside the hostel in ground and 1st floors. There is also a college canteen, Nescafe outlet (functioning up to 2 am ) and a stationary store inside campus. Whole campus including hostels is equipped with high speed WIFI up to a speed of 350mbps. The campus and hostels are maintained clean and tidy .Food is not the best and non native students find it difficult to maintain but there are other options plenty because mess fee is weekly and optional.

Overall college life here is not too much but good.

College Infrastructure

College infrastructure is overall good as it's just 23 acres but it is well maintained. All the required classes and labs are present in the academic block area. We have a large sports ground for football and cricket also.

College infrastructure is quite good there is lot of greenery in our college. Building are a bit old. Rooms are okayish i would say(enough for a person) college is small, it extends upto 30 acres. Overall it is not much bad
