I am very sorry to inform you that with this rank is it not possible for you to get a seat in any of the NITs/ IIITs and GFTIs which take admission through JOSAA. So you can either look for some other colleges or you can try to take a drop and appear next year and improve your score. All the best!
Hi Swapnil,
I am sorry though you could crack the hardest exams of engineering, your SC Category rank is really decent enough to fetch you some top colleges but remember that the competition goes really high as everone aims for govt colleges.I am sharing a link below, please check the colleges you may expect to get with reference to previous year's data. Please prioritise branch always over a college during counselling. This link will compile all the colleges at one place and give you a list.

Hello Shilpi Das!
It is better to go for NIT silchar as it is an older institute and have better placements. But you can also choose IIIT, Gwalior if your home is nearby here.
Hope this will help you!
All the best for your future!
Thank you!!
hey swapnil
please mention category and home state also. however i am taking you as a general student
first of all it is very tough to get cs or it in any of the NITs however you can get some iiits or colleges like UIET,assam university etc. gurukul kangdi vishwavidyalaya, mata vaishno , YMCA faridabad , sant longowal institute of engineering and technology etc are some of the good colleges you can get

As a third year B-tech student i have spent two years on campus and want to share my honest experience. Our college boasts a spacious and well maintained campus spread across around 30 acres. The main academic block are clean and fully functional with essential labs and new tech ,modern classrooms equipped with projectors and comfort seating there are also designated seminar halls and conference rooms on the ground floor of academic block. The academic block is mainly divided into 3 blocks, Block A, B and C including a very large and useful library in B block. Hostels are very close to academic block most of the hostel blocks consist of 9 floors each floor consists of 7 rooms with 6 three student rooms and 1 four student room. there is also single room hostels from second year but limited entries depending on CGPA of students. Hostel Mess is inside the hostel in ground and 1st floors. There is also a college canteen, Nescafe outlet (functioning up to 2 am ) and a stationary store inside campus. Whole campus including hostels is equipped with high speed WIFI up to a speed of 350mbps. The campus and hostels are maintained clean and tidy .Food is not the best and non native students find it difficult to maintain but there are other options plenty because mess fee is weekly and optional.
College infrastructure is overall good as it's just 23 acres but it is well maintained. All the required classes and labs are present in the academic block area. We have a large sports ground for football and cricket also.
College infrastructure is quite good there is lot of greenery in our college. Building are a bit old. Rooms are okayish i would say(enough for a person) college is small, it extends upto 30 acres. Overall it is not much bad
