Hi,

The 2019 cut off for electrical engineering in NIT Calicut is 11908 for general category. For MNIT Jaipur, the cut off is 13357. Also, NIRF ranking for NIT Calicut this year is number 5 in engineering colleges  section and MNIT Jaipur is ranked 35.

So, as per these details and NIT Calicut being one of the most prestigious and old NITs, I would prefer NIT Calicut over MNIT Jaipur in campus wise.

Hope this was helpful

Aninkya,

First preference should be your passion. After that you can go for brand name. EEE Branch in NIT Calicut is better option tho.

Regards

Obviously NIT Calicut is better, judging by fees, the number of courses and the median salary packages offered.

Hello,

Hope you are doing well.

As per your question, we can best any nits by comparing their placements and teaching facilities along with infrastructure as per reviews. We can also consider fees structure but nits have almost same fees. So:-

1) NIT rourkela:-

As per their officials they have a good placement package as of highest 25LPA in electrical engineering and an average CTC package of 4 to 5 LPA. They have good infrastructure as well as good professors who are well qualified.

2) NIT calicut:-

As per their last year placement packages, around 50LPA was the highest package and if we consider placement in electrical engineering they have highest package in around 32 LPA  and an average CTC package of 7 to 8 LPA . They have well qualified professors as well as good infrastructure as per reviews.

So as per this comparison, NIT calicut have good figure in terms of placement so you should go for this NIT also you can choose NIT rourkela as well as per your convenience.

If you want to predict your NITs as per your convenience then you should use this predictor tool to predict your college as per your mains rank :-

Hope this information helps you out. Thank you.

Hello student,

With a rank of around 90,000 in obc ncl category it is nearly impossible for you to procure a seat in nit calicut as the closing rank for female candidates under home state quota was around 13,000 making it really difficult for you. Yet, you might apply for other colleges that accept admission based on jee score. However, you can predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the below mentioned link:

Hey,

We all know that without officially released cut-off details of NIT Calicut by its responsible authority, The Joint Seat Allocation Authority ( JoSAA ), we can't make any accurate comment about the precise cut-off details of your desired college for this year.

So we have to go through the previous year's cut-off informations to make any decision regarding your admission possibilities. That's why I would like to recommend you to check its official website ( https://www.nitc.ac.in/ ) or the link provided below:

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-calicut

So it'll be definitely too much clear for you also that inspite of being  ST category student you don't have any kind of possibility to get admitted in this renowned institution with this performance through 15% AIQ . Because according to 2019's informations, the last qualifying rank of your desired stream, Electrical and Electronics Engineering for the students outside of its home state Kerala under ST category was 905 where in this year your rank is 7543 .

Though the cut-off marks vary depending upon several important factors like:

  • Total number of candidates appeared in this JEE MAIN 2020
  • Total number of candidates qualified in this exam
  • Number of seats allocated for this instituion by the conduting authority of JoSAA Counselling
  • Highest sore of JEE MAIN examination
  • Number of questions asked in this examination
  • Previous year's cut-off trend
  • Toughness level of your question paper

Still I don't want to give you any unreasonable hope in this regard because it's obvious that the cut-off rank can't be too much decreased from 905 to 7543.

But if your residential state is Kerala, then with this rank you can get any department in this eminent institution, NIT Calicut under your reserved (ST) category through 85% Home State quota.

However you've enough chances in top State Government Engineering colleges, hope that you've applied for State Level Counselling (like Punjab, Haryana, Telengana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kerala etc) which already has started.

I guess our JEE MAIN College predictor tool must be quite helpful for you:

Wish you all the best.

Hi Aspirant!

We generally compare colleges on the basis of placement statistics and according to this year's placement statistics data are as follows as provided on official website.

IIT ALLAHABAD

  • Average Package: 20.83 lpa
  • Highest Package: 43 lpa

NIT CALICUT

  • Average Package: 17.68 lpa
  • Highest Package: 49.75 lpa

Now if you solely wants to learn CS then you should choose IIIT ALLAHABAD as in that college you get to learn all things in CSE from you first sem.Or you want to experience everything and be in a good college then you can also go for NIT Calicut. In my opinion you should choose NIT Calicut.Although at the end it your decision.

I hope it helps.

Dear Aspirant,

The first criteria for choosing any of these NITs, is the branch you get in these NITs. For example if you're getting a core/top branch in one and some average branch in other then you must go with the good branch.

Some good branches are:-

  • Computer Science
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • IT
  • Communication

Hope this helps Thank you.

College Infrastructure

One of the largest engineering colleges in Kerala build a long time back standing out in infrastructure and a large campus. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate the large population of students, especially the first year classrooms, seminar halls and auditoriums are the finest. Regular maintainance of living spaces keeps it clean and tidy. Food is good offering us to try a very vast variety of cuisines across India all in one place.

Top of the line college
