Hello student,
If you prefer college instead of branch, then Production engineering/biotechnology in NIT calicut is a good option. But if you prefer branch over college then CET is better. If you are getting Production engineering/biotechnology in NIT calicut, there are even chances that you might get a better branch in other NITs. I suggest you to check other NITs where you can get a good branch. Not only NITs , you can apply to IIITs and GFTIs. i suggest you to take a look on the following links -

Hey aspirant,
You should choose only that branch in which you feel you are comfortable with. Because of course you won't want to waste your four years of life in studying something in which you are not interested.
Also, the colleges are preferred on the basis of one's priorities.
However if we see the placement statistics of both the colleges then highest package offered by svnit is 39 lpa and average is around 4-6lpa.whereas in Nit calicut the highest package offered is 50 lpa and average ranges around 7-10lpa.
So, on the basis of placement statistics I would suggest you to go for Nit calicut but as I mentioned above the choice should be totally yours.
Hope it helps
Good luck.
Hi Rohit,
Let's carry out some quick comparisons:-

As per the details mentioned above NIT Calicut is better than MANIT Bhopal in every single aspect but you will have to leave your home state so that is the only advantage in MANIT Bhopal.
As per my advice, NIT Calicut is best

Hello Aspirant,
Getting admission into NIT Calicut for B Arch depends upon your category and percentile rank alongside other things like no. of students appeared, exam difficulty level , seat availability and previous years cutoff trends.
Seeing your rank, it is difficult to say whether you would get admission into NIT Calicut or not. Since, the cutoff varies and changes each year ranging from 400 to 1000 seeing and considering previous years cutoff trends. For students coming under home state quota, the cutoff is usually lower than that of others.
You can see the previous years cutoff trends of NIT Calicut given below,

We are having good lab facilities, xerox shops, but in hostel canteen facilities are not there. There are canteens in campus, but inside hostel, canteen facility is nill.stationary, xerox facility is there , also study rooms, common room facility is good. But wifi may trouble sometimes ????
One of the largest engineering colleges in Kerala build a long time back standing out in infrastructure and a large campus. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate the large population of students, especially the first year classrooms, seminar halls and auditoriums are the finest. Regular maintainance of living spaces keeps it clean and tidy. Food is good offering us to try a very vast variety of cuisines across India all in one place.
There is not a single facility or infrastructure that I cannot find in the campus. Well equipped and well maintained. No issues with hostel food or hostel services or anything of the sort. Wifi available in almost every spot.
