Hi there!
Although there was a time when placements in department of ceramic engineering used to be very poor, but now with time the scenario is changing, for B. tech students, enough number of core companies(Vedant, TRL, OCL etc. ) do come to NIT Calicut to recruit. Also there is the provision for every department students to sit for companies from IT sector(TCS, IBM etc. ) as well as analytics(Affine, ZS Associates etc). So overall placements in Ceramic engineering is quite good.
As the number of Ceramic Engineers is quite less than other Streams, So if you are talented enough you will definitely grab a job while leaving NIT. :)
Thank You.
Hi there,
According to the latest NIRF ranking,
NIT rourkela has better score and rank than Nit Calicut. As NIRF ranking is based on various factors like placements, academics, infrastructure. So you can get idea from it. But it does not mean that Nit Calicut is lower,NIRF ranking changes every year and according to me both are at the same place in terms of better college. Now it's totally depends on you that which college attracts you in terms of your preference like distance from your home, campus, placement etc.
Both are the one of best Nits in India and you are lucky that you are getting seat in any of the above Nits. Both are equally good you can choose any of them according to your preference.
Good Luck!!
Hi, Prateek I can understand your question so the answer of your asked question is that once you get admission in NIT with the help of EWS Quata it will remain same for in sake of securing your seat in the institution but it may affect the Fees creteria or may be some more thisngs but you will remain student and your seat will be secured for sure. So no need you to worry regarding your seat but you have to configure out from the college authorities once your EWS quota gone i.e next year. Ok!
Good Luck.

Hello student,
NIT surathkal is ranked at 44 among other universities and NIT calicut is ranked at 66. Both the NITs are very good. But according to the rankings, NIT surathkal is better and the branch you are getting there is also great. If you want to get into purely computer and programming domain , i suggest you CSE at NIT calicut as Information Technology is not purely programming when compared to CSE.Life, placements and exposure in both the colleges will be great.
Coming to placements in these colleges,
NIT calicut 2019 highest salary package is 8,05,000
NIT surathkal 2019 highest salary package is 8,00,000
So both the colleges offer nearly the same placement opportunities

Dear aspirant,
Hope you are doing well. As per your query you are comparing two different courses that is B.Tech and B.Arch. Definitely IIT is the best choice when it comes to studying be it be for B.Tech or B.Arch. Also IIT BHU is one of the very renowned colleges amongst all the IITs. The placement status of IIT BHU for B.Arch is outstanding. The highest package offered was 1.5 Crores whereas the lowest was 15 LPA. On the other hand NIT is also one of the top tier institutes for B.Tech. First you need to make a choice between your field of interest. Only depending on that aspect you will be able to choose the best. Hope you find this helpful. Thank you.
We are having good lab facilities, xerox shops, but in hostel canteen facilities are not there. There are canteens in campus, but inside hostel, canteen facility is nill.stationary, xerox facility is there , also study rooms, common room facility is good. But wifi may trouble sometimes ????
One of the largest engineering colleges in Kerala build a long time back standing out in infrastructure and a large campus. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate the large population of students, especially the first year classrooms, seminar halls and auditoriums are the finest. Regular maintainance of living spaces keeps it clean and tidy. Food is good offering us to try a very vast variety of cuisines across India all in one place.
There is not a single facility or infrastructure that I cannot find in the campus. Well equipped and well maintained. No issues with hostel food or hostel services or anything of the sort. Wifi available in almost every spot.
