Aswin, NIT CALICUT offers admission to B.Tech as well as B. Arch courses through JEE MAIN PAPER1 AND PAPER2 respectively. The National Testing Agency , NTA conducts two papers viz. Jee Mains Paper 1 and Paper 2 for entrance to B.Tech and B.Arch respectively. In your case, you have not specified whether you want to inquire about your chances based on percentile secured in JEE MAIN PAPER-1 or PAPER-2. So, I am going to answer your query taking into consideration that the query is about JEE MAIN PAPER 2 for entrance to B. Arch course in NIT CALICUT and if your query was different, then you can let me know.
Now, to calculate your expected rank for B.Arch based on the percentile score that you have secured, you can use this formula:
So, (100 - your total percentile score) is the percentage of people ahead of you. Also, 112679 were the number of candidates who appeared for January exam.
So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 112679 /100.
Also, note that the ranks will change according to increase or decrease in the number of participants in the next session.
Now, according to this formula, your expected rank is around 3943.This is the expected General or All India Rank and not the category rank as the category ranks are very tough to predict at this point of time. Now,In your case, your chances of getting admission to NIT CALICUT are very small irrespective of your home state and gender as evident from the previous years cutoff trends (to be honest your chances are next to zero for NIT CALICUT) as predicted from previous year cutoffs as follows:-
2019 NIT CALICUT CUTOFF RANK FOR GENERAL CATEGORY was as follows
General |
MALE (HOME STATE) 1668 |
MALE (OTHER STATE) 1362 |
FEMALE (HOME STATE) 972 |
FEMALE (OTHER STATE) 856 |

However, you have a very good percentile and it may fetch you the seats in many other good government and private institutions. In addition to it, you do have another attempt to go in APRIL JEE to improve your scores and hence the chances for a desired college.
If you want to know the colleges you would get at this score, you can this college predictor
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-architecture-college-predictor
Deepak, you can calculate your expected JEE Mains paper 2 rank for the January session using the following formula:
(100-your total percentile) x 112679/100
So with 94 percentile, your rank would be around 6760.
Also, if the number of students increases to 1.5 lakh in the April session, the formula for rank calculation would change to:
(100-your total percentile) x 150000/100
Hence your expected rank in this case would be around 9000.
With your percentile, it will be difficult to get into the NITs or CFTIs as they require a rank below 5000 for admission. Although you can get a seat through state level counselling in NIT Hamirpur or NIT Raipur if you are eligible for Home State quota for these colleges.
You can go to the below link to find the cutoff rank for admission in BArch in NITs or CFTIs for the years 2016 to 2019: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-b-arch-b-planning/amp

Hey there,
Greetings!
Hope you’re having a great day.
I would like to inform you that according to the recent trends, it is highly likely that you can bag a seat at NIT Calicut for B.Arch course since the cutoff is almost around 97% so you won't be facing any problem joining in.
Let me know if you have further clarifications by mentioning it in the comment section below.
Have a nice day!
I wish that you have a bright future ahead.
Thanks.
Hi,
Hope your are doing great!
As per your percentile your ranking will be as follows:
100-(percentile obtained)×no. Of students appeared ÷100=
100-98.319×869010÷100=
14608.
It's difficult to get seat in both of these NITs as their cutoff is high comparative to other NITs .

We are having good lab facilities, xerox shops, but in hostel canteen facilities are not there. There are canteens in campus, but inside hostel, canteen facility is nill.stationary, xerox facility is there , also study rooms, common room facility is good. But wifi may trouble sometimes ????
One of the largest engineering colleges in Kerala build a long time back standing out in infrastructure and a large campus. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate the large population of students, especially the first year classrooms, seminar halls and auditoriums are the finest. Regular maintainance of living spaces keeps it clean and tidy. Food is good offering us to try a very vast variety of cuisines across India all in one place.
There is not a single facility or infrastructure that I cannot find in the campus. Well equipped and well maintained. No issues with hostel food or hostel services or anything of the sort. Wifi available in almost every spot.
