NIT Calicut All Questions

You must always choose the stream of your interest first over the college. So firstly decide whether you're more inclined to Mech or Electronics, you probably have to spend the rest of your life in the field. If you're still confused, you need to see the college reputation. Both are excellent and old institutions. Placement wise Jamshedpur is a little better and so is ECE with more job opportunities. However, NIT Calicut is no far behind. So choose wisely based on your priorities.

Hey Kranthi, the spot rou d for different colleges starts at different times. Generally for NIT calicut the spot round will begin from mid August . I would recommend you to hire a counsillor for yourself as counsillors can guide you through all the procedures and that way you wont miss your chance of making it in NIT.

Coming to your question I would like to tell you that you had chances to get into these institutes s your OBC rank is in the range of the previous year rank cutoff for the nit Calicut and the nit Allahabad ,the 576 and the 641 was the previous year cutoff , and hope this year the trends follows the same , just be relaxed you will definately get one out of the two .

For admission in NIT CALICUT for B.Arch you need rank under 1200 with general category.And if you are OBC category then you need category rank under 500.This is previous year cuttoff.Each year cuttoff get change little bit.

You could be able to get admission in nit Calicut in mechanical engineering department in spot round counselling. So you will have to try for it. By the way you will be able to get admission in some top NITs other than nit Calicut.

Please ask a more specific question. Well still let me share some information about CSAB Spot Round and JoSAA Special Round.

JoSAA conducts Special Round for students who have already been allotted seats. But through this process they have a chance to get any other preferred branch in the same institute. 

But CSAB Spot Round is for those who haven't been allotted any seat. And no withdraw option.

It all depends on if the candidates who got more marks and better college than yours is interested or willing to leave . If he doesnt leaves the better option then definitely you are going to get the same seat inspite of the fact that you have chosen to float. Float is that you want to go upwards in choice but not that you are definitely going upwards. It all depends of the candidates who got better marks than yours.

I think there is some confusion here. In the fourth round of JOSAA counselling on 9 July 2019 the closing rank for Mechanical Engineering for other state quota general male is 12186. So unless you ae not referring to your all india crl rank then you need to specify your category and category rank.
