well NIT hamirpur is not under top 10 college. It is in the 30-40 rank in India so it is not in tier 1 even not in tier2.
But yeah, at the end of the day, its an NIT afterall, and a better place to study than the other private colleges.

Hello aspirant,
You can't get seat in nit harimpur because your rank is little bit higher than the cutoff rank.
Cutoff for mechanical engineering for EWS in home state is

Better you choose some other universities to pursue your course. There are also other nit and IITs and many top universities offering mechanical engineering.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck..!!.

Hello aspirant, hope you are doing good.
So, below I'll mention some of the key points of comparison between the two colleges and the subjects that you have mentioned, and you can see for yourself, which one suits you better .
Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh has higher rank
BE Mechanical Engineering in Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh has higher cutoff through JEE Main
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering in National Institute of Technology Hamirpur has lower fees
Ranking ( according to NIRF ranking) :
NIT Hamirpur : ranked 98
PEC(Punjab Engineering College) : ranked 68
Course fees :

PEC Punjab : Rs. 6.19 Lakhs
So, the fees is more or less in the same range in both the colleges, if thats a concern for you.
As far as the infrastructure and faculty is concerned, PEC punjab being a very old college, has definitely a better faculty full of experienced teachers but NIT Hamirpur has got more students intake

NIT Hamirpur’s campus is a dream for nature lovers, tucked away in the mountains and offering stunning views all around. The hostels are spacious and comfortable, and getting a single room in the final year feels like a reward. The WiFi is super fast, and the computer labs are well-equipped, making it easy to stay on top of assignments. Each department has its own dedicated lab, and the campus also has two peaceful temples, a well-maintained sports complex, a gym, and even a music room where we could unwind after a long day.
The college infrastructure is well-equipped with modern facilities, including spacious classrooms, advanced labs, a well-stocked library, and Wi-Fi access, creating a great learning environment for students.
Modern classroom, well equipped lab , spacious library If a college has modern, student-centric infrastructure, it boosts academic success, extracurricular involvement, and overall satisfaction. However, gaps in infrastructure might result in frustration, lack of engagement, and decreased institutional reputation.
