Hello Aspirant,

Before coming to the detailed review of IIIT Una I would like to make you clear that in IIITs there is no Home State quota and the seat allotment is done only on the basis of your All India Rank, therefore you were unable to find out the home state quota for it. Now if we go through the reviews of the students currently studying their, then being the new IIIT, it has not it's permanent campus yet and the classes are being conducted at NIT Hamirpur, so if NIT Hamirpur is considerable for you then it would be the good choice. Now coming to the placement scenario, so it was established in 2014 itself according to which the first batch of IIIT Una has passed in 2019 and the placement records were neither too good nor too bad, we can say it as average, however all the students got placed, some through On-campus placement and some through off campus, obviously package was not that much high as provided in older IIITs like IIIT Allahabad, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior and so on. Also there are Libraries, separate hostel for Boys and Girls, Mess and so on.

You can get complete details about IIIT Una from the link given below :-

https://www.careers360.com/university/indian-institute-of-information-technology-una

Now I hope you can conclude about the IIIT Una and for your reference I am enlisting down some other CSE colleges in Himachal Pradesh :-

  • Indian Institute of Technology - [IIT], Mandi
  • Shoolini University, Solan
  • Chitkara University, Solan
  • Indus International University - [IIU], Una
  • Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry - [YSPUHF], Solan
  • Himachal Pradesh University - [HPU], Shimla
  • College of Basic Sciences - [COBS], Palampur

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Dear student,
Almost 50% of the students got placed in the year 2019-2020 in NIT Hamirpur. The highest package offered was 9.5LPA, and the lowest package offered was 3.5 LPA. The average package was around 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for mechanical engineering were BPCL, HPCL, Ashok Leyland, Maruti Suzuki, Accenture, Samsung, Reliance, IBM, Wipro, Capgemini, etc.

Hey!
I can clearly see the level of optimism in your question , yes it is good to expect a better placements in future but nothing can be said for sure as its about your future , so if you are a person seeking the placements , so it is not advisable to put your future on stake just on the basis of expectations. Yes , the placements can increase to 60-70% students getting placed but still you can't expect placements more than this for chemical engineering for which it is just 35-40% at present.
I hope you understood my point.
Thankyou!

Hello Student,

Chemical engineering at NIT Hamirpur is good. Placements are nice here. For the last session, around 80% of the students got placed.  The highest package was 17 LPA while the lowest was around 3.5 LPA. Top companies like Samsung, UHG, EXL, L&T, Capgemini, GAP etc. visit the campus.

Chemical branch is also good at DTU. For the last session, around 70-80% of students got placed. The highest Package was around 16 LPA whereas the lowest was 4.5 LPA and the average was around 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Maruti Suzuki, IOCL etc.

Both are nearly same in Chemical placements, but go for DTU, as it is old and very reputed college.

Hope this helps.

hello,

If you are from chemical engineering department then you are not suppose to sit in the placement for cse, it or ece. The placement cell will not give you the permission but if you want to sit in the IT placement you have to do some certification and projects in the field of CSE from NPTEL, Coursera, Edx etc. then only you are eligible to sit in IT placements. After you do your projects and certification you have to contact with your placement cell of the college in order to take permission and enroll yourself there.

The top recruitors in NIT Hamipur are:

Accenture Anglo-eastren univan group Bloomberg
HSBC Godrej Capgemini
IBM L&T infotech Maruti Suzuki
Infosys Samsung Oracle
Jio JP morgan Larsen & Toubro
United technologies SAP Wipro

hope this will help you

all the best!!!
