Nirma University Scholarship

Nirma University, Ahmedabad offers numerous scholarships to meritorious students. Those students who fit the eligibility laid out for a particular Nirma University scholarship scheme can apply for the scholarship after completing their enrollment. Nirma University scholarships help meritorious students pursue their studies, various scholarship schemes and financial aids are offered by the institute.

The Nirma University scholarships are for UG, PG and doctoral students. The university provides financial aid for undergraduate students which includes the Nirma Merit Scholarship scheme, Merit-cum-Means, Interest-Free Loans, Alumni Funded Scholarship and Earn While You Learn.

The Nirma University scholarships state that students must maintain their grade points at a certain level and also abide by the college decorum and abstain from any unruly behaviour. In such cases, the Nirma University scholarship can be revoked. The various scholarship schemes at the Nirma University are as follows:

Nirma University Scholarships: Financial Aids for UG Students

The university offers various scholarship options for the students to provide financial assistance to deserving and/or needy students. The renewal of the said scholarship is based on the candidates' academic performance and overall conduct during the previous year. To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates should maintain a minimum PPI of 7, fulfil the minimum attendance requirement, not using unfair means in exams and apply for continuation of the scholarship.

Merit Scholarship

For the Nirma Merit Scholarship scheme, candidates' merit and hard work are recognised. Rs. 1 lakh per annum to the top 5, Rs. 90k to the next 20 and Rs 50k to the next 25 students are given based on merit under this scheme.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

In addition to students’ merit, this merit-cum-means scheme takes into account the annual income of the family. Rs 90k is given to the top 25 students with a total family income of less than two and a half lakhs, Rs. 50k to the next 25 students in the income group not exceeding Rs. 4 lakhs, and Rs. 25k to another 25 students with family income not exceeding Rs. 6 lakhs.

Interest Free Loan

The university provides a subsidy on the interest rate on the student loan that is taken for tuition fees. This benefit is offered to 5 per cent of the total intake of students. Reimbursement of 100 per cent on the loan interest is offered to students with family income up to Rs. 3 lakhs and 50 per cent is offered to students with family income less than Rs. 5 lakhs.

Alumni Funded Scholarship

The Nirma Institute of Technology Alumni Association (NITAA) gives scholarships of Rs. 30,000 every year to two students from each branch. The students must maintain a PPI of 7.5 and should not be getting scholarships from any other source.

Earn While You Learn

Students who haven’t received financial support from the government or university and have a family income of less than Rs. 10 lakh per annum can apply for this scheme. The selected students can work for a maximum of 10 hours every week.

Financial Aids for Postgraduate Students

Nirma University offers financial support to PG students in terms of monthly stipend. The first nine GATE qualified students get a stipend of Rs. 12.4k per month and others get a stipend of Rs. 5k per month.

Financial Aids for Doctoral Students

The full-time doctoral scholar is given a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for the first two years and a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) for the third year as per the UGC norms. The fellows are expected to put in 8 hours per week for academic work assigned by the department.

The college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment which makes this college an awesome college. The classrooms, labs, hostels, etc. have the top-notch maintenance and design. The living spaces are clean and food quality is good and it is hygienic.

College Infrastructure

Our programme is a complete residential course. The infrastructure of the university is colossal with a beautiful green campus, which adds beauty to it. Classrooms are air-conditioned and have Wi-Fi facility. but there will be a mobile network jam on the campus. The library has a plethora of collections of books ranging from academic books to novels. The drawbacks of the university infrastructure are its drainage system and poor network signals. We have three hostels, two for boys and one for girls, where air-conditioned rooms are available.

It is good to see institutions like NMIMS have selected you for master of law based on your CLAT PG scores. If we compare the three then to be very clear:

NMIMS Mumbai has strong reputation for it's Kirti Mehra School of Law and has got good academic value.
Nirma University is also another good after NMIMS, and has strong reputation for law studies in Gujarat.
The DNLU is comparatively newer than the other two and it will take some time to be equivalent to them.

For the best academic value and recognition choose NMIMS, or the Nirma University is also good. The DNLU is newer and can be considered as well but if we choose any one, then it is NMIMS.
