For getting admission into SV NIT Surat, the maximum rank that you need to get is around 20000 so that you can be on a safer side.

However it is different for home state students.

It also varies from round 1 to round 7 in the jossa counselling.

Believe me don't gor for NIRF rank, if you are looking for placement.  Among these three, don't  chose NIT durgapur if you are not from bengal. You may chose NIT Bhopal or NIT Surat,according to other parameters. If you are intrested in CIVIL then only go for it else

In first round, all the ones who register are allotted some college on basis of rank. But when asked to report many of are not able to take admission because of like taking drop, getting some other college like BITS, etcc...so their seats remains

Yes, if last year upto 7th round seat was alloted to 28k rank, then definitely you will get it by 5th round for 25k. The seats of civil branch of many of colleges doesn't fill up, there are always vaccines which are filled by special round.

Taking about placement scenario in IITs, many different types of companies visit there like consulting, software related, core , business analyst etc.. When one get into core companies,  he may hardly get CTC of more than 10 lakh. Only PSUs offer placement of more than 12 lakh and rest

According to me both of the college are good. The CSE , ECE branches of DAIICT very good. SVNIT is also good.

But, in case of DAIICT the fees is comparatively higher than SVNIT. And also SVNIT gives you NIT tag which matters lot in later phase of life.

All the NITs , IITs and IIITs have now updated their course to computer science engineering.  So it is computer science engineering in SVNIT than computer engineering.  The official website of svnit would not have updated it to computer science engineering.
