SRM is a wonderful college in terms of the infrastructures that it provides. Starting from smart classrooms, to state of the art laboratories, a huge library with all sort of books from different genres and departments including competitive books as well. It also provides good hostel service with hygienic food.
Academics in SRM is pretty average. It follows a very outdated curriculum which is seldom revised. We aren't provided education to make us job ready and most of the facilities are least interested to teach. However, once or twice you may find great professors. In general, when it comes to academics, SRM doesn't fare that well.
Placements in SRM is really outstanding. Average salary offered is around 4.5 lpa whereas highest salary may reach as high as 30 lpa. The college provides full support during placements bringing about external help as well. All in all, almost everyone bags a job or two.
When it comes to ROI, SRM fares well. With an yearly fee of 2.15 lakhs that amounts to around 9 lakhs after 4 years you really enjoy a pleasant college life, grow with your peers and also bag decent placement(s). Comparing to the scenarios elsewhere, I feel, the investment is worth it.
Campus life in SRM is really worth it. Huge campus spreaded over an area of 250 acres, it encompasses 2 cricket/football fields, basketball courts, lawn tennis courts etc. Moreover, the place is just awesome. You can enjoy by just taking a stroll alone or with your friends.
All in all, you can have a very nice time here in SRM, if you also work for yourself. Nice campus life, awesome fests and lastly decent placements with a little effort from your end.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (KTR) stands tall when it comes to infrastructure. It is equipped with almost all necessary things such as smart classrooms, modern labs, excellent WiFi network, etc. The library in SRM is also excellent with its huge set of books to prepare from, ranging from engineering books to novels, fictions and also books for different competitive exams. Also, it brings us gymnasiums for boys and girls separately. The hostel is well cleaned and mess food is hygienic
This is an area where SRM lacks strongly. I am currently pursuing my B.Tech in Biotechnology, and the mode of teaching is very poor. The course is seldom updated and we are given no industry knowledge. Also, most of the teachers are not well versed with their own subjects and this is a complain we get to hear from almost everyone.
Placement is actually very good in SRM, however for non-coding departments such as ours, it is very difficult to bag a decent job. Although the highest salary goes upto 30lpa with a decent average in branches like CSE, IT, ECE, EIE, etc branches such as ours mainly get jobs of around 2.5-3.5 lpa with the highest touching 4.5lpa (this year)
SRM can never be regarded as a value for money institute especially for students who wish to pursue higher studies. The sole reason being the knowledge that you acquire in these 4 years is very limited (unless if you have worked on yourself by doing external courses)
Campus life in SRM is excellent. With such a big campus and sports fields present you can actually have a wonderful time. Not to forget the lush greeneries that it offers and also different fests that it conducts. (Aarush and Milan being the two most celebrated ones which notes presence of students from other states as well)
SRM, all in all, is a great place to be in if you are just looking for a degree or an average job. Incase, you are ambitious or want to pursue higher studies, surely this isn't the best bet. Having said all, it also conducts several workshops and conferences attending which you can hone your knowledge.
SRM is well known for its infrastructure. Yes, it is not a myth, the college does provide us with indispensable facilities in terms of smart classes, laboratories with upto date facilities, libraries with huge collection of books. WiFi connection is also a boon here. Moreover, hostel rooms are well cleaned and provision of hygienic food is also there.
Quality of reaching is pathetic here. I"m currently pursuing my Bachelor's in IT but I can vow for all other branches, none are satisfied with the quality of education provided. Curriculum here is never updated and if you desire to be industry-ready, you have to do a lot of self-study.
Quality of placements is a corner where SRM shines out. With its huge batch-size, SRM still manages to provide placement to all. With average package ranging from 4-5 lpa, highest package may reach as high as 32 lpa.
Cost per year only for education is 2.15 lakhs and for four years it sums up to 8.6 lakhs. With so much spent, most of the people land up in service based companies offering 3.5 lpa. So ROI is a definite low here. However, if you really work on yourself these 4 years you might as well bag a decent offer.
Campus in SRM (Kattankulathur) is a beautiful one. It is spreaded over an area of 250 acres and is filled with greenary. Amongst all others, there's 2 fields to play games such as cricket, football, hockey etc. Separate badminton courts, basketball courts, and even lawn tennis courts are present. Above all, gymnasium is also present (fully AC).
SRM is a college where you might have the time of your life for four years obviously. But do not go along and only enjoy. If you also want a decent lifestyle after college, do make an effort to upskill yourself in every possible ways and not only depend on your professors.
SRM is a well known brand when it comes to Engineering. People from all over India prefer SRM for its eminence among other Tier-2 colleges. It does provide very good infrastructure in terms of classroom-facililities. Projectors are present in every classes and laboratories are also well-maintained. They also provide high-speed WiFi to aid us with our learning. Hostels are also clean and tidy with hygienic mess food although tastes are pathetic.
When it comes to teaching, well the quality is pathetic. Most of the teachers are unaware of recent developments and can't even address your doubts properly. Follow-up of the same old books is done, with no update in curriculum. The study doesn't make you job-ready. To bag a decent placement, you need to work on yourself.
Placement is another aspect, that most people look upto and SRM fares quite well in that pursuit. Almost everyone bags an offer by the end of placement season. People who have acquired very less skills still land up with a job and if you have been disciplined enough to work on yourself, you will pretty well land up with more than one offer. Average placement ranges from 3.5-4.5 lpa while highest may go as high as 30 lpa.
In terms of ROI, SRM features poorly. Per year college fee is around 2.15 lakhs and now it has increased even more. Therefore at the end of the 4 years, you end up spending around 9 lakhs. However, average salary is around 3.5-4.5 lpa. Hence, it is not a college that is value for money.
Campus life in SRM (Kattankulathur campus) is really great. One will have the time of his/her life. With its beautiful campus spread across 250 acres you can enjoy each and every day. Presence of 2 grounds, basketball courts, running tracks and gymnasium, make it all the more worthwhile.
SRM is a beautiful college in terms of is amenities, people, placements, etc. If you want to enjoy life and bag a decent placement you can choose it blindly, however, if you are ambitious or simply want to gain knowledge, try avoiding the college.
The college has different blocks for different branches. It has a big auditorium, basketball ground, Cricket ground, volleyball ground. The college very well maintained daily. The campus also has updated labs.
I'm studying electrical engineering. The curriculum in srm is updated every year according to the requirements which keeps the students updated too. Srm has provided me a strong knowledge about electronic objects.
Placements in srm have a 100 percent the record since the last few years. The average salary offered in electrical engineering is 4-5 lakhs. The college also provide different projects and internships to the students.
I think it is a bit costly compared to other colleges. But some point or the other I feel it is valuable because of the placement record which is maintained by the college and the final years projects which helps in gaining a strong knowledge.
The campus has some of its best and worst features. Hostel food isn't that good as compared to the food in the college canteen. The college should build more lifts which would help both students and faculty.
Overall life in srm was fun. All I would suggest is the college should look after the hotel food and should build up more lifts in each and every block to make it easier for the students and the facilities of the campus.
SRM IST has well equipped laboratories dedicated to computer science, physics and other engineering science courses. Classrooms in University Building is centrally conditioned. All the classrooms are fitted with projectors. There are also basketball, tennis, badminton and volleu ball courts.
I am studying B.Tech. Curriculum and syllabus have been recently updated in 2018. Most of the faculty has decent teaching skills and are approachable. Though it depends much on the student's interest and eagerness to learn, which exhibits the teachers' capabilities.
The quality of the placements is good. Major companies like TCS, Wipro, Microsoft and Infosys visit the campus every year. The students are trained in aptitude and soft skills from the first semester itself till the 4th year.
I chose my course based on my rank, which is ECE, and tution fees is 2.5L per year. This campus offers a lot of opportunities in the forms of clubs, teams and workshops to cultivate and specialize in one's own interest apart from normal curriculum. If one takes advantage of those opportunities then it's definitely worth the money invested.
College campus is sprawled over 250 acre. It is very green and clean. Located 35 KM away from the city of Chennai, it has lesser pollution. The atmosphere is pleasant. There's a food court, with many shops to cater to all kinds of cravings. There are restaurants just outside the campus. The gates are gaurded 24*7 and also fitted with CCTV cameras throughout the campus. There are two fests held in a year, and activities are conducted to keep the students engaged and entertained.
It has been a pleasant experience so far. Studies are going good. It's a busy schedule to manage studies and extracurricular activities, but it really helps in development and teaches management of time.
I'm talking specifically about the Ramapuram campus which is being modify and new building are getting constructed. Each department has a different building. The college campus does not provide wifi to the students by it has WiFi connected to the computer systems which can be used by the students.
I'm studying B.tech computer science and engineering. SRM has highly qualified teachers to provide knowledge to the students and they also provide practical knowledge to the students. The courses provided are up to date with the real world.
The campus attracts a lot of companies which helps to get the college 100 percent placement record for the past years specifically for the computer science students. The average salary offered is 4-5 lakhs per annum.
My btech degree for computer science and engineering cost me 1.95 lakhs per year and it is a 4 year course. For me it was worthy to give the amount of fees and getting the right education. Students can also grab some interesting internships provided by the college.
Campus life is pretty much strict including the hostel life. It is a no ragging zone campus. The students and teachers can engage with each other easily as the teachers don't hesitate to share their phone numbers.
The campus is good for placements and education. Once the construction part is completely done it will add some more stars to the campus. The campus should construct more lifts in the buildings as their are many students.
Yes sir,my college consists of all the facilities needed by a university to be accredited.it orovides us not only with engineering department but also various other departments like bba, mba, mtech, medial, arrs and science etc many other departments.
The academics at srm are one of the most finest we get nowadays like in any other college.it also provides us with many internships for the students who are in need and also college provides us a unique feature that is study abroad program.
Placements are the one which describes the colleges name or fame, srm stands for one of best university in 2019 for placements amd its academics.the packages start from 3lakhs and it is upto 31 lakhs highest we got until now,the college was supportive enough for getting students the jobs.
Yes sir if we make use of the oppurtunites srm provides us it is quite a good place where u can learn many other things excluding academics.per year fees starts from 2.5lakhs and goes upto 4.5 lakhs depending upon the rank we get in the exam.
Campus life is one the thing i should mention because srm is a place where we learn many things,in that the main thing we learn is to live happily and take decisions when we are in so many ups and downs like problems and all.
Srm is the best place in the world.
Our college have well equipped infrastructure with smart classrooms.laboratories have all the necessary equipment needed for the research purposes and smart librarie with all kinds of necessary books needed which comprises of two floors.campus is huge and can fully experience campus life .classes are frequently clear and sanitized. Whole campus is enabled with cctv and wifi.we do have a huge food court maintained by srm good foods where one can get the taste from south to north
I'm currently pursuing b.tech in Electronic and Communications engineering I have chosen this course basically because of my great interest on mobile phone and other gadget .The curriculum is updated frequently according to current industrial needs which make easier to get placed through campus
SRMIST is know for its placement. It gives 100 percent placement .the average salary offered by our collage as what I have heard from my Seniors is 5 to 7 lacks per annum. As my college give necessary guidance and support which makes easy for getting placed
My tuition fee is 2.5 lack per year I feel worthy for my course as the college give me the necessary support for my future growth and have equipped and plesent environment to study. It not only concentrate on studies but also give equal importance to co corricular activities from technical side it frequently conducted MUNs nd national level symposium nd conference which helps to gain experience nd knowledge in technical side and for non technical my collage frequently conducts cultural fest.
Iam studying in SRMIST ramapuram campus its located in the heart of the city with a wide campus where one can experience a real campus life with excellent features .staff's and professor are very friendly and helpful which helps to maintain a good relationship with students which helps in growth of their careers
Yeah , the college has everything beyond a student's expectation . Everything is well managed and has an organized infrastructure . And a well maintained surrounding too. College has a daily footfall of 30000 and I really got to learn allot after being there.
I'm currently studying computer science at SRM University . Yes , academics is perfect and there is very less pressure for the works. Updated most probably yes. Everything goes systematically and there is no pressure for the student to secure a pass mark , though it's necessary but we get ample of chances to do that.
Every year we have a very good round off of comapnies offering placements and the students getting the opportunity to be a part of it. As I have not yet reached that phase can't say much about how all it works . But if the placement depends on the company it depends more on the student
Money's worth only if I do everything that's required by my field.
It's good but the area it's situated in , is the outskirts so we don't have much opportunity to explore
Once you shortlist your colleges , trust me SRM isn't a bad choice
Hello,
Although it is quite unlikely to make 2 lakhs per month as a physiotherapist from SRM College of Physiotherapy, especially immediately after graduation, it is not impossible with experience, specialisation, and possibly private practice. The average monthly salary for recent grades is between 15,000 and 25,000 . Although earning
