good buildings with electricity supply tech park is the hub for cs students and the building has 4 lifts tech park 2 is the better version of tech park 1 and has very nice labs with appropriate equipment like up to date computers

      Academics

teachers dont know what theyre teaching and for some reason have a bias against north indian students. Examinations are easy but you need to study a lot to get good internals. end sem exams are easy tho

      Placements

you pay to get a job. you wont ever recover financially if you go for placements from this college. this college will lead you to financial ruin. youll go broke after a week of buying a4 sheets and printouts for projects

      Value for Money

if there was an option below one star i wouldve selected that instead but since we cannot do that, the fees of this college for one year is close to 5lakhs and the hostel is 2lakhs minimum. by the end of your four years youll be in a debt of 30+lakhs and you wont get a job of even 1lpa so do the math yourself

      Campus Life

potheri and trs will be your go to spots for certain reasons that youll find out soon enough. the campus life is plenty good since the crowd is nice. however the south indian crowd is something you should stay away from.

      College Infrastructure

The lifts are bad and can be done better. The libraries and sports complexes are well maintained. The living places which consist of hostels are not good. The food on the other hand is also below average.

      Academics

I’m studying BTech in Computer Science with specialisation in Software Engineering as I have an interest in the course. The internals taken throughout each semester is a tad bit tough but the end semester exams are manageable.

      Placements

The quality of placements in this college is not very good. According to websites, the placement record is more than 80 percent but in real, it’s questionable. The average salary package offered is around 5-6 lakhs.

      Value for Money

I pay around 24 lakhs for my course fees and my hostel fees for 4 years which is quite expensive. The return of investment is not up to the mark that I expected it to be considering such costs but they can be improved.

      Campus Life

The surroundings of the college is brilliant and I believe that the crowd is also amazing. The availability of resources is up to the mark and the location is also convenient. Yes it can handle emergencies due to availability of hospitals and police stations as well.

      College Infrastructure

The college Infrastructure is good, there are many buildings and a large campus, with lots of trees and greenery. As per my experience, the wifi works nice. The classes are good and include ACs in it. There are projectors in old and screens in new class rooms. There are grounds for tennis, basketball, ball badminton, cricket, etc. Also there are different general store shopes, food shops, some local but also have subway, dominos. But some times the campus seems to be crowded, lack of silent place. In current state, there's lots of construction in the campus. Some times it becomes difficult to find peace out of hostel, in the campus. If we are some friends and want to jam in peace so it is difficult to find such place. Lots of vehicle are rushing inside and in such times it causes traffic inside.

      Academics

I am studying CSE with specialization in Software Engineering. I think that the course is good, but there are some non credit or some extra subjects that we have to study, such as Universal Human Values, Constitution of India, Professional Ethics etc. Some teachers are genuinely good but some are really terrible. The college has started the STEP program which focus on making the students job-ready, and the classes are held every week, total of 4 hours. There are many internal assignments and tests that we have to do, fulfilling the components, since there is no mid sem and all. There different tests and assignments throughout the semesters and sometimes, it may feel hectic.

      Placements

Placements at SRM are mostly average. SRM brings many companies and some like Amazon, Wipro, TCS but the the package most of the students get is not so good and high packages are rare. So, the placements here don't fully satisfy expectations.

      Value for Money

The courses in srm are not cheap and they are quite expensive, around 4.5 lakhs per annum for CSE plus hostels or other residential expenses. I think if we want the results and make the investment worth, we really have to work hard, and cannot fully rely on college placements for it.

      Campus Life

The campus life is ok, not bad. There are many clubs not only technical, but also non-technical, such as music, dance, drama, etc., where we can get recruited. But I mostly stay in the hostel, but yes the campus life is enjoyable. Also, there is a hospital inside the campus, but it is quite expensive.

      College Infrastructure

SRM has excellent infrastructure with multiple high-end equipment . All the classrooms have either smart board or projector and my campus has a large library with study space and there are also many sports teams which are highly encouraged and funded by the college . All build is the campus has fast Wifi connection.

      Academics

I'm a 2nd-year computer science student currently pursuing a degree in CSC with specialisation in Software Engineering. The quality of the curriculum is up to the global standards and highly related to the job market. We undertake various career guidance sessions to understand the current job trends and needs, and work on that. The syllabus helps us become job-ready and is updated every few years

      Placements

The quality of placements has been good, but due to the global recession, the placement percentage has dropped significantly compared to previous years. Around 80% of the students get placed before the 4th semester. The highest salary package as of this year is 48LPA, to my knowledge, for a CSC major. The college is very supportive of the placements, and the average salary package is between 3.5 - 5 LPA

      Value for Money

My annual fee for my course is 4.5 lakhs. I don't feel that it is worthy, as we don't get books or anything else from the college side, even though they have amazing infrastructure

      Campus Life

The campus life is good; there are multiple clubs, both academic and non-academic. It is a pretty safe campus located on the outskirts of Chennai. Everyone is highly encouraging and supportive and aims for better future development

      SRM KTR Review

      College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is modern and expansive it offers well equipped labs etc you get everything what you need from mac labs to all electrical and mechanical labs, cnc machines everything is fully equipped.

      Academics

Decent with good resources but overall teaching quality is just average and heavily depends on your own effort mamke sure to have a good relation with your FA as he/she's GONNA help you a lot through internship and placements.

      Placements

decent placements with some high packages but outcomes largely depend on your cgpa and personal skills rather than college and projects that the companies see although somethimes selection can be based on luck must with these most of times you'll get ...

      Value for Money

reasonable value for money as you get good infrs and moderate exposure but returs(academics, placements)vary widely on effort but srm does provides good companies but hostel fees and clg fees seems a bit on higher end

      Campus Life

campus life can be vibrant and lively if and only if you find a good group of people though there are lots of clubs, events I'm sure anyone can find his/her type of group but due to crowd there are a lot of unnecessary and bad groups also

Giving a review on my college

      College Infrastructure

the infrastructure is really huge with multiple buildings, keeping the diversity of each field in the college, its got spacious places which is very relaxing as well, the labs are well equipped and classrooms are occasionally well maintained. Wifi connectivity is all across the buildings and are in good network speed.

      Academics

I'm studying in my second year of university with the course in B.tech CSE w/s in IOT, the teaching is pretty good here as the respective lecturers are highly knowledged with many years of experience hence making it easier to learn the subjects

      Placements

The quality is fairly good with many well based companies coming for placements, the percentage is notably high with the highest lpa coming close to 50-60lpa,average comes close to 15lpa,and the process is seemingly easy for the students aswell.

      Value for Money

my course is 3.5lakhs per year, and so far i do feel my money is being spent well enough for the knowledge am gaining.

      Campus Life

The campus life is the best in SRM, with a diverse community of people all across india studying here, you get to meet alot of new people.

My college does have all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment and everything is really well maintained Classrooms are nice Labs are nice and have all equipment required Sports centre is average can be better Hostels is maintained Wi-Fi and smart boards are also good Living spaces are clean till some extent food is not so hygienic

      Academics

I’m studying B.Tech in Computer Science with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning My curriculum is not so upto date according to my course right now but it does have some relations What I study makes me kind of job ready

      Placements

I don’t have any idea about placements But what I’ve heard from others like my seniors quality of placements is luck dependent as well as skill dependent and that’s how it should be I think the highest package was of 1.5cr but I don’t know which course it went to

      Value for Money

My course costed me near about 5 Lakhs per annum for two semesters I don’t feel it was worth that much amount But since my course is also future related literally I feel it’s okay and it’s kind of expected from a private institution

      Campus Life

Campus life is amazing genuinely Had lots of fun in the past 2 years I never saw it coming Location is perfect Everything you need is a walk away or a blinkit zepto away Staff is good and friendly and responsible

      Well this college is average.

      College Infrastructure

Considering the amount of fees they take , the infra is not up to the mark . You will get all the basic facilities all the important study related stuff all that is pretty good but if you are someone who got your admission from sports quota don't expect much in sports facilities .especially indoors and also grounds and also wifi is mid , kinda depends on your hostel or your room locations as well but that's something you can work with.

      Academics

I think its better then most of the tier 3 colleges but as always not very relevant to the job you will do , for the basics it makes sense but latter also its not something that would help . Engage in college clubs for experience.

      Placements

The college is overcrowded so don't get a very high expectation ,you have to work very hard for an average mediocre package and be prepared to have a fight with that banglore crowd for placements as they will just be miles ahead of you , What you might be starting in college they would have already done a=,but at the same time realistically you can grab a 50 lakh package.

      Value for Money

Look from an ROI perspective it might be a big no but there is a good chance that you will be placed somewhere .If you are really a clown that doesn't do anything have no sense of seriousness then there are enough people to beat you.

      Campus Life

Well there are not many places in the campus you can go , On holidays the college looks beautiful because of less crowd but ya hostel life is fun and will be a cultural shock in the start but you will adapt things and will become better in dealing with stuff.

      Others

Consider it as your last option and if you can spend 20 lakhs then this college might just be a good private pick behind VIT

      College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is very nice, specially the new tech park 2.When I was in first year the university building was also very nice. Hospital inside the campus consist of every facility and the playgrounds and swimming pool is also very well maintained. College Library is one of the best i have ever seen.

      Academics

i am pursuing BTech CSE w/s Software Engg. which one of the best degree in terms of placement and academics here in this college depends on your internal marks, if you maintain good marks in your internals you can easily score in your end sems according to your preparations.

      Placements

I will give it as average because what i have heard from seniors its not very good or very bad. It totally depends on your skills . You have to work very hard to get placed in big companies. If you are average student placement in big companies is hard.

      Value for Money

College consist of many scholarships according to your entrance exam marks & different criteria. Return of investment according to the fees you are paying is not that good if you do not have any good scholarship

      Campus Life

Campus Life is very good , very good infrastructure , good hostels, every facility from food to hospitality is provided by the college inside the campus by college. In time for hostels is also decent i.e. 9PM for boys and 7PM for girls

      Academics

Academics is very serious here you have to be very serious about attendance and cycle tests here you have to be very good here as it is easy to score good here and you have high competition around you

      Placements

Depends on your hardwork entirely depends on cgpa you have to make sure you don't have any back in your resume as they filter on the basis of your cgpa and side project and your club contribution rest good

Have a question related to SRM University Chennai ?

      Hello,

If I were choosing between these colleges, I would generally prefer MIT Manipal, LNMIIT, SRM KTR, and JIIT before SOA.

That doesn't mean SOA is a bad college. In fact, it's a decent option with good infrastructure and placements, especially for CSE-related branches. But when compared to MIT, LNMIIT,

if i get 75-80 in ap eamcet and on 12th may afternoon shift and my ipe marks are 582/600 how can i expect my rank and can i hope for vit ap or srm ap cse ai ml i am a bcb girl student

      Hi,

With 75–80 marks in AP EAMCET and 582/600 in IPE (around 97%) , you have a strong board score, which will help in the rank calculation.

Based on recent trends, you can roughly expect a rank somewhere in the range of 8,000–15,000 , though normalization and your specific shift

      Hello Dear Student,
If the choice is PES University CSE vs SRM KTR ECE , then PES University CSE is generally the better option for career prospects.
