Low network area in both department and hostel..well defined labs and library.... bad condition of classes specially in my department.. Food and other facilities are well provided.. So many extra curricular activities to enjoy and to experience..
Yes , teachers are helpful , qualified and knowledgeable and teaching quality is also good. Yes the curriculum is also relevant and good enough and helpful. Semester exam are moderate in my college and avg criteria is defined to be passed at 33%
The placements are very good and amazing, as they also provide internship opportunities and other facilities. The average package is 8 lakh per annum, and the highest package is 20 lakh per annum. Internship opportunities come from companies like Google.
It is very big and beautiful. Thapar is really good and green, and you will find trees everywhere, and it is very important for this generation to live in a green environment. It teaches you a lot, and it is really good. I like it personally.
The faculty is okay and really never pays attention to any particular student; they just teach and leave. But the syllabus is really huge; it is next to impossible to complete it on time. The exam pattern is also very complicated. They won't let you give exams if your attendance is not more than 60%.
This year, Amazon came for non-teaching roles in B.Tech for a 6-month internship offer. We had an online MCQ-type exam, out of which a total of 14 students were selected from 3 branches (mechatronics, chemical, biotechnology). Out of those 14, 11 cleared the first-round interview and 8 cleared the second-round interview (final). These 8 got an internship of 60 K. The rest of the students from all the branches also got internships
In our campus facilities and infrastructure are excellent, just like abroad, there is free wifi, a computer lab, a digital classroom, a library, etc. for students. There are also canteen facilities available for students.
Teachers are helpful and well experienced and skilled; they have high teaching experience. They make students well trained for social interaction so that students do not get any difficulty for there jobs . Our college exams are not that much though but they are very helpful.
In our college, 92% students got placements. In our college, the highest package offered is 5 lakh, the average package offered in our college is around 3 lakh and the lowest package offered is 2 lakh. 90% students get internships from our college in every year.
The infrastructure and ergonomics of classrooms, as well as libraries, are good. We have a projector and white screens in approximately every class. The library has a good amount of course books and is equipped with ACs. The hostels are pretty average as the mess food is below average and the boys' hostel doesn't have any discipline, and wardens help students to come
The faculty staff are not qualified as we have a lot of placement during our 2nd year. And all teachers were inexperienced but passionate and thought only of completing the given course. On the other hand, exams are totally the same as the previous year's paper. 80 percent of the question topics are repeated, as a result, it's easy to pass.
The placements here are actually pretty good. Sales companies come for technical courses like BCA and B.Tech. The lowest package was around 7- 8.4LPA with an average of around 12.5 LPA, and the highest were only a few with around 55 LPA. A few have 70 LPA too.
Mess food is more than above average, and it has luxurious rooms as well. We have the option to go for a single-seater, two-seater, or even a four-seater with AC facilities provided. It looks more like a hotel than a hostel.
The faculty is good, but the problem is with the course structure, which is more theoretical and less practical. Semester exams are easy to pass, but the number of exams taken by colleges is large. For instance, 1 midterm, 1 end term, 1 sessional before midterm, 1 sessional after midterm, 2 vivas, and 2 lab components hinder the growth of the children in extracurricular activities.
60% of students placed the highest package offered on campus at around 52 LPA. Various internship offers were revoked due to a bad outlook in the industry. Average package of computer science branch is 12 lpa.
The central library has a lot of books and journals, as well as a very specific sitting and reading area with barcode security. There are lots of dongs roaming around the university, which is annoying. The hostel fees range from 47000 at the lowest to 8000 at the highest level. Hostel timing is a big issue and 8:15 is the last in line; after this time, you are prohibited from entering the hostel. Mess food is good as compared to other PGs; you can avail of different options. In addition, we have Cos Market, Nirvana Meditation Park, and many cafeterias.
In the semester, there are two theory exams and one MCQ exam, then a lab evaluation, and then we have to score well to clear the exam. The course is in line with industry, and I think it is a perfectly balanced course syllabus.
The placements in the college are at a decent level, with the highest being above 50 or 60 LPA. Good companies like Microsoft and Amazon come to the college. A good amount of in-campus placements are available. Top-tier companies always come to Thapar.
The Wi-Fi network is all around the campus with good speed and there are AC classrooms which are well maintained and can accommodate a good number of students. The library is one of the most iconic features of the institute and the hostel and mess facilities are excellent and considering you're a sports loving person
Faculty have higher degrees along with experience in the field of teaching. Some teachers heavily rely on PPT and online teaching material. In the semester, there are two theory exams and one MCQ exam, then a lab evaluation, and then we have to score well to clear the exam. The course is in line with industry, and I think it is a perfectly balanced course syllabus.
80% of the students got placed. only condition is that they have passed in all subjects. top recruiters are JP Morgan, IBM, Amazon, Accenture, Infosys, Walmart, Microsoft, etc. 90% of the students got internship. Our college gives opportunities to every branch
It has one of the best infrastructures I've seen. The academic blocks and the library are excellent. Hostel and mess facilities are at a decent level and better than the majority of other colleges. Thapar has large grounds for football and cricket. They also have good synthetic tennis courts.
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has highly educated and experienced faculty in their respective fields with an extensive understanding of the industry. Thapar Institute has two main examinations known as the mid- and end-of-semester tests. Besides, quizzes and lab evaluations are held. Examinations are slightly difficult but one can easily pass.
The placements in the college are at a decent level, with the highest being above 50 or 60 LPA. Good companies like Microsoft and Amazon come to the college. A good amount of in-campus placements are available. Top-tier companies always come to Thapar.
TIET's Nava Nalanda Library is a treasure trove of academic resources. You can find all the necessary books in this 4-floor library. It's a great place to study, research, have group discussions, and do presentations. Hostels are very clean, and rooms are spacious. The mess provides good quality food. Also, the evening and night canteens offer a variety of options. Medical facilities are good; ambulances are available on time, and the dispensary is open 24/7.
Some faculty members are really nice and helpful, while others you may not find as helpful. Most of the faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Yes, the course is somewhat relevant. Semester exams are quite challenging for some subjects as you are studying them for the first time.
Placement rate is 83%. It has a good placement rate, which allowed me to choose this college. The average package is 14 LPA. Many good companies like Apple, Microsoft, etc., offer placements. Four students got 1 crore+ placements at Apple.
The structure is very nice and really good, but the first-year hostels were not that good compared to the second-hand hostels, as they were newly built and their infrastructure was very nice. Also, the courses are nice. The classes are all Wi-Fi, and the classes are built very nicely. The new ones are really good, and the and the infrastructure and food are also nice. Every hostel has its own mess.
Teachers are helpful and share their numbers with everyone for personal one-on-one talks if needed. I think the curriculum for civil engineering is relevant, as we are taught about computer software rather than old ways such as on paper. The labs are well-equipped and have every machine needed. Semester examinations are not that difficult if you study every day for 2 hours.
This year's overall placement rate was 98 % And yes, our college was full with top companies but from previous year, the packages offered were less. top recruiting companies this year were Google, Microsoft, tata motors, etc.
A rank above 50,000 is considered good in JEE Mains. Some of the private colleges accepting JEE Mains are

With a Class 12 board score of 86% in 2024, your son meets the board-based eligibility for B.Tech CSE at Thapar University—but there’s one important detail. Thapar conducts admissions via two modes: one uses JEE Main scores (50% seats) and the other uses Class 12 PCM marks (50% seats). However,
