It is very good especially the college life. However, industry exposure is nil which is very negative point that no one ever bothers to look. However, college is quite marvelous when it comes to students and the facilities provided. You can enjoy a lot or make career upon our own wish.

The infrastructure is now improved. Faculty is also good. Every student can afford this College. The College fees is very low. So College fees is not issue at all at NIT. Student crowd is vast . There are students from different states and union territories of India. The placements are very good for CSE,ECE,ICE. This year(2017-18) Textile Branch also have very good placements. GATE rank of students are also very good. 1 of ICE branch student score 1st rank in GATE and 1 student of Mining Engineering score 3 rank in GATE . There are many more good ranks score by students. Adobe(only girls),JP Morgan, Sunpharma,Amazon,Reliance Industries limited etc higher students for internship. Hard work plus smart work is the only key of success at NIT.

The college is affordable. Every student can afford this college. The infrastructure has improved. The faculty is good. Some teacher is very experienced and teacher very good. Most of the teachers are from IIT, NITs. Some teachers have done postdoc from abroad. The industry exposure is less. Most of the equiments are too odd. The labs do not meet the standard of latest industry innovations. The placements of CSE, ECE, ICE, is good. Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon, JP morgan, sunpharma, RIL, Oracle, Nahar Industries limited, Hero Honda, Rao IIT Academy and many others companies take part in campus recruitment. Some of the companies like Amazon, JPMorgan, Adobe, ISRO,RIL,Sunpharma hire students for a summer internship and pay a good stipend. Most of ECE students get placement in CSE companies. The placements depend on hard work you have done during your 4 years in college. Extra-curricular activities, Communication skills are very important for placements.

Every student can afford this college bcz the fees criteria is based on the family income. If ur family income is less than 1lakh than your college fees is just 6999. The infrastructure is now improved. Two new buildings are constructed it's excellent. The faculty is good but not too good. Some of them are very experienced and teach very good but some are just time pass teachers. The industry and practical exposure is also less . There is no latest apparatus and latest innovation included in the syllabus. The placements of CSE , ECE and ICE are good. Most of CSE students get very good packages. The placements depend on the hard work. The students who are doing hard-work they got placement. Most of the hardworking students got good packages and good placements.

College life is the best. Awesome infrastructure, some profs are good. Admin is hopelessly incompetent. Placements are ok. Not too good not too bad. Anyone joining NIT J mechanical should know that placement prospects for mech are better than most branches. Dont depend on the ad hoc faculties as most are illiterate ppl who have somehow secured a job at NIT. However, the permanent favulty is good. There is a good ground for sports and gym. Cultural activities are going on throughout the year

My four years went superbly in the college. i learnt the concepts of life. infra is good, hostel can be managed if you make good friends, not great food but then bidhipur comes to your rescue. Teachers are good in the civil department, Practical knowledge giving is where the college lacks. Overall the cultural society was fun to be in. Twogreat fests held every year and all the festivals, placements and birthdays are celebrated extravagantly. All in all it is a good college. The college has a good infrastructure with understanding faculty members, industrial exposure and real time analysis of situation is a dream for students.Hostel facilities are manageable and the food is nice. We have nice seniors who guide you through a lot of competitive exams and coaching for GATE, CAT and GRE is available nearby. There is an auto facility to go to a near place vidhipur and buy whatever we want. There are two fests lined in a span of one year. All in all it was a good experience for me. P.S. I am in my last Semester :P The college is very big and have a luscious infrastructure with a good library canteen playground etc. It has good faculty members who guide thoroughly. The crowd is from all over India. It has very affordable fee. The students enjoy the college life as a whole by studying and equally having fun in the fests organised by Utkansh team. Placement is good as well. And coaching for competitive exams is also available.

Great place for technical learning

Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
The college is nice, good infra, good people around, talented students, nice faculty members, a lot of activities every day, two fests to enjoy, bharat dhwani, and every festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Studies are manageable. Good exposure of all the competitive exams coming up. Nice hostels. Food and washrooms are bit of a problem.Otherwise canteens are there to help you out. Big names come up for placement. Faculty bahut kharab hai. kuch nahi samjhate, aate hain class mein aur phir chale jate hain. infra thik hai thoda. mega hostels aache hain par purane wale kharab hai. khana bhi thik thak hai. canteens bhi thik hi hai. bache aache hain. dost banalo toh sahi chalta hai kaam.gym bhi aacha hai. baaki sabse aachi cheez college ka fest hai: Utkansh. mazza hi aa jata hai. Techniti bhi thik thak hi hai. bas last year hai ab. The college has a very good reputation among masses but it lacks a huge amount of amenities. the labs are not properly equipped. Placements are good in CS department. Hostel and food is manageable if and only if you have good friends in here. Faculty is very adjusting and the 75% attendance criteria is a bit of nuisance.

NIT Jalandhar has a beautiful campus away from the hustle of the city. Almost everyone can vouch for the well kept campus. The departments are well equipped with laboratories required for the curriculum. Every department has a mix of permanent and ad-hoc faculties. Each department has few great professors who are instrumental in shaping up the future careers. The research culture is overall weak. However, some departments have nurtured research culture and provide decent opportunities.

NITJ as we call it, is a fine college with all kinds of facilities available and promotion of all kinds of talents. The college life here is very happening and all the seniors are very frank and can be approached very easily. The faculty is not up to the mark but students still manage to learn the things that they need to with each other's support. The fests here are very fun to be a part of, with all kinds of talents available in the college itself with something as difficult as a magician also available here. Come, be a part of this college and have a great life!

The college has a good infrastructure and it is still developing. New Student Activity Centre and other lecture theatres construction have been almost completed. There are some things that are missing like a flood lit stadium and swimming pool. Some more lecture theatres are needed because first year is still being taught in the old 90's lecture theatres. Otherwise, the college is good with nice with good industry exposure and fine placements for all branches in good companies. Seniors are also very good and frank in nature.

This college is a good college but it is nit as good as other nit colleges. faculty is not very supportive and we have to study on our own. Support from college side for various projects is also not very good or appreciable.Labs are also not up to date and this institute does not qualify to be an institute of national importance. Though th e college is best in its region and is better than most of the private colleges. this college is okay but you should try to get a better college for a good experience.

Industry exposure is also fine, and placements are also very well, particularly for CSE department. There are various events going on in the college throughout the year and that is why it is very fun to be around in the college! i would surely recommend you to join the college. one negative thing of the college is its location. it is located outside the city and is very inconvenient to reach.

Placements in nitj are the best. If you have any special talent or some new ideas, then you got a better package. Here, packages started from 3 lakh per annum to 22 lakh per annum. According to your CGPA, you got job chances. A minimum 6.37 CGPA is needed to be elligible for placement.

NIT Jalandhar has a vibrant student life with several clubs and events. It is the best place to polish managerial skills and initiative takers are ever welcomed. The administration is very supportive of student activities and take great interests. If one shows inclination in an activity you'll get ample opportunity to showcase your talent. the rigor of organizing events, fest and dealing with different types of people greatly polishes the personality. This act is evident by the large no of NITJ people in various reputed B Schools across India.

NIT J EXPERIENCE

Posted on 05 Mar' 17 by ANUKRITI GUPTA
Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
I am currently pursuing Electrical Engineering in this Institute. Overall the Branch is good though I would like to say only those people should join here if they really have interest otherwise don't just come for the NIT tag. Regarding faculty, Some professors really put their maximum efforts but some have their own conflicts ,sometimes it affects the students too. Here the quote "First impression is the last impression" matters alot. It does not matter for some of the Professors How we are studying? .Only our Impression on them matters. Placements are quite good here. NITJ has patched up with lot of MNC's thus the Placement stats are quite improving year by year.Life on campus is Ok Ok. If you are the student who can spend his/her four years consistently with books and CG( Sidewise all activities to be done) , Come and join this college. We can do nothing here if we are overall not sound in our academics. Thus Overall my perception about this College is Good but not awesome if we think and consider our College Life too.

Chem. Engg. in NIT JALANDHAR, an honest review :)

Posted on 05 Mar' 17 by KRISHAN KUMAR
Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Chemical Engineering
For Chemical engineering, NIT Jalandhar is, I would say, above average, given the fact that this is an underdog branch. CGPA wise, you can get good enough scores here. Highest placement for chemical engg. this year was around 15-20 lpa. No. Of subjects every semester is 5, which makes it less stressful compared to other branches. One very important point is that the subjects are not at all boring, contrary to common perception. (Note: I'd read/heard somewhere that Chem Engg. Is the second most popular or something branch in USA, although I suggest you to verify it.) Faculty quality is mixed. Infrastructure and hostel restrictions, also have improved a lot this year. Fests are okay-ish, and so are the celebrities invited. Drug abuse is not so common. Sportswise, we have good basketball, football, badminton and athletics teams; other sports are average level. Seniors are co-operative and 'some' of the teachers too. Opposite gender interaction is 7.5 out of 10. Mess food is good in only some of the hostels, others are average. The scope of Bhangda is very high here, lol. Fee structure is also great and student-friendly. All in all, this is a decent college for a B. Tech aspirer.
