Unless you have Vicinity issues or some craze for CSE, I would suggest you to prefer either between VNIT or MNNIT ECE. Both are among the Top 10 Best NITs, with excellent placements, faculty and infrastructure. However, incase youre in for CSE, I would sugget you to prefer NIT Jamshedpur. NIT Jsr is perhaps one of the most underrated NITs of India, with Much better Placements than the Rest ot the Sister Institutes.

Hi,
Based on previous years cutoff, it is very Difficult to get VNIT with 78 percentile. With this rank, you had low chances of getting NITs. I would suggest you to go for State Level councelling. Apart from that, you could try to get admission in Institutes that give admission based on JEE Mains marks. In order to know what other colleges you could get, you should use this tool:

Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing well.
To be honest, metallurgy has no scope these days. Hardly companies come to hire a true metallurgical engineer. You again anyhow have to try your hands on coding if you want to get a high package job. However I feel doing an MSc in Chemistry would be a better option. Because if later,:
Hope that you got the answer to your question. Feel free to comment back incase of any doubts. All the Best!
VNIT Nagpur infrastructure good for PhD in Computer Engineering. Department has own building with labs full of computers, servers for AI and simulations. Library huge, access to journals and online stuff, WiFi covers most areas. Hostels okay but old, mess food simple. Campus 215 acres green, sports ground helps relax. Some buildings need AC fix, hot in Nagpur. Fine for research work.
