Unless you have Vicinity issues or some craze for CSE, I would suggest you to prefer either between VNIT or MNNIT ECE. Both are among the Top 10 Best NITs, with excellent placements, faculty and infrastructure. However, incase youre in for CSE, I would sugget you to prefer NIT Jamshedpur. NIT Jsr is perhaps one of the most underrated NITs of India, with Much better Placements than the Rest ot the Sister Institutes.

Hi,

Based on previous years cutoff, it is very Difficult to get VNIT with 78 percentile. With this rank, you had low chances of getting NITs. I would suggest you to go for State Level councelling. Apart from that, you could try to get admission in Institutes that give admission based on JEE Mains marks. In order to know what other colleges you could get, you should use this tool:

Thanks!!!!

Hello,

Admission to Computer Science Engineering in Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur is based on merit in JEE Main. You have to appear for JEE Main and qualify in it. The eligibility criteria to appear for JEE Main is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board. You also need to secure the cut off rank. Here is the previous year cut off rank in round 6 of JoSAA counselling to get admission to Computer Science Engineering in VNIT Nagpur

  • General:  4708
  • OBC-NCL: 1500
  • SC: 811
  • ST: 298
  • EWS: 803

The cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

Hi there,

If you have given the engineering exams then for getting admission in any college you need to do the counselling process for that.

There are various counselling portals like

  • Josaa
  • Jceceb
  • Wbjeeb
  • Reap etc

After completing the counselling process you can get admission in the college.

If you have given the jee mains exam and want to know college based on that then you can use our college predictor tool for that

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

To be honest, metallurgy has no scope these days. Hardly companies come to hire a true metallurgical engineer. You again anyhow have to try your hands on coding if you want to get a high package job. However I feel doing an MSc in Chemistry would be a better option. Because if later,:

  • you develop interest towards chemistry, you can do research and go for PhD
  • you can sit for UPSC exams
  • you will be a postgraduate that will be helpful in many ways whil applying for a PhD.
  • you can appear for MBA as well.

Hope that you got the answer to your question. Feel free to comment back incase of any doubts. All the Best!

Hi

It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

******number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

****** number of available seats,

****** performance of different students in the examination,

****** the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

>>>>> With 4417 sc rank

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes

You have low chance in nit nagpur for cse even under home state.

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, under  home state closing rank was 942 sc rank  in NIT Nagpur for cse

>>>>>>> with 7578 ews rank

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you are confused between the above mentioned colleges so I would like to tell you that metallurgy branch is three of these colleges is more or less same in terms of placements.

But I would recommend you to join nit jaipur as it's considered to be a good nit in terms of placements, infrastructure, faculty. Lastly, it's your choice you can join nit Durgapur also if it's near your home.
