AGM Rural College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli Admission Process

The AGM Rural College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli, and it enjoys an immense reputation as an engineering education institution. It was established for quality education in India across streams of engineering. The college employs a systematic admission procedure for its candidates seeking admission to affordable undergraduate programs. AGMRCET admits students on the basis of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) performance into one of the engineering courses. AGMRCET admission schedules generally happen in relation with that of KCET, which is conducted every year by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Hence, the students are expected to keep track of the KCET application dates announced usually in the first quarter of that year, to the best of their abilities. KCET is expected to take place in April or May, with the result announcements taking place in June or July.

To qualify for admission, candidates must have completed their 10+2 from any recognized board with mandatory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.  KCET marks are the accepted primary mode of entry for admission to AGMRCET. Other entrance exams like ComedK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) and AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) are considered for management quota seat admissions into the college. Thus, multiple exams can be accepted for students' admission to AGMRCET.

Application Process 

1. KCET Application:

  • Register for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) through the official KEA website.
  • Fill out the KCET application form providing all necessary personal and academic details.
  • Pay the required application fee.
  • Download and save the completed application for future reference.

2. Entrance Exam:

  • Appear for the KCET exam on the date scheduled. 
  • For management quota seats, you may also appear for ComedK or AIEEE exams.

3. Result and Counselling:

  • After KCET results are announced, you can check the score and rank.
  • Register for KEA counselling process if the rank falls within the cut-off.

4. Selection of College: During counseling, the candidate can choose AGM Rural College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli, along with the desired course.

5. Document Submission: If allotted a seat, the reporting to AGMRCET for document verification.

Required documentation:

  • KCET/ComedK/AIEEE score card
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Income certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate
  • Recent passport-size photographs

6. Fee Submission: Pay the required admission fee as prescribed by the college.

7. Admission Confirmation:

  • Receive the admission letter from AGMRCET.
  • Attend orientation to familiarize yourself with the college and its facilities.

Degree-Wise Admission Process

B.Tech: AGMRCET has admission to a total of 755 students in seven B.Tech courses. Admission into all B.Tech courses is on the basis of KCET score as an important criterion. This means that the students need to take KCET and outperform other candidates in order to qualify for admission into B.Tech. The college offers Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Design, and Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning).

The admission procedure for each B.Tech program is as follows:

  1. Take the Common Entrance Test (CET) organized by the State Government of Karnataka for CET/Management Seats.
  2. Alternatively, must qualify the ComedK Entrance Test for ComedK/Management seats.
  3. For management quota, scores in the AIEEE examination will also be considered.

The approved intake varies with the following program:

  1. Computer Science and Engineering Subject: 120 seats
  2. Electronics and Communication Engineering: 90 seats
  3. Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 30 seats
  4. Civil Engineering: 30 seats
  5. Mechanical Engineering: 30 seats
  6. Computer Science and Design: 30 seats
  7. Computer Science and Engineering (AI and ML): 30 seats.
