      Academics

The faculty at CGEC is highly regarded, with many professors holding advanced degrees from prestigious institutions like IITs. Students appreciate the supportive and knowledgeable teaching staff, particularly in departments like Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The curriculum is designed to provide a solid educational foundation, though some students suggest a need for more industry-focused content.

      College Infra

CGEC boasts a clean and green campus with well-equipped classrooms and laboratories. The college provides a spacious playground and a well-stocked library with approximately 15,000 books. However, some students have noted that hostel facilities, especially for first and second-year male students, are still under development.

      Campus Life

The college offers a vibrant campus life with various extracurricular activities and student clubs. The relationship between juniors and seniors is described as strong and supportive. The campus environment is conducive to both academic and personal growth.

      Placements

Placement opportunities at CGEC are considered average. While reputed companies such as TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, and Byju's have recruited from the college, the on-campus placement rate varies. In high-demand branches like ECE and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), placement rates can reach up to 80%, with salary packages ranging from ₹3 LPA to ₹10 LPA. However, in some years, on-campus recruitment has been minimal, prompting students to seek off-campus opportunities.

      Value For Money

As a government institution, CGEC offers affordable education. The tuition fee is approximately ₹6,000 per semester, with additional fees during admission. Scholarships like the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM) are available, providing ₹60,000 per year to eligible students.

      Academics

Faculties in our college are really good especially in our department. We have PhD completed teachers in our college. Specially our HOD sir doctor Palash Das reason really humble and great teacher. Under his guidance we are happy to study more. I take admission in this college because I had that ECE department of this colleges really good. In future I hope that from our department we can grab the semiconductor market as our placement.

      College Infra

College Infrastructure is really good. Our college campus is huge and we have playground boys hostel girls hostel and admin building academic building. There are gardens flower trees in the whole campus area. We Have projectors in every class rooms and free wifi for whole college. But we don't have any Canteen.

      Campus Life

I live in cooch Behar so the college is near my house and also I heard that the ECE branch of this college is good if I talk about facilities in my college great instructor great faculty college appreciate student clubs for ko co- curriculum and extra curriculum activities. But the placement is not good here. Overall you can say it is a good college. That's why I take admission in this college. My rank was 19407 and I take admission here in mop-up round of counselling. Overall Great Experience.

      Placements

The college is very poor if you consider on-campus placement. In 2024, not a single company visited our campus. But many students get placed off-campus. The highest package in our batch was 9 LPA, and the average was 3-4 LPA. 10-15 students got off-campus placement out of 62 students. Recently TCCS held a placement interview in our college.

      Value For Money

If you are a Normal student without TFW, then you have pay ₹13000 (Tuition fee ₹6000, admission fee ₹1000, Development fee ₹2200, Registration fee ₹500, Caution fee ₹300, Library Caution fee ₹2000, I'd card fee ₹100 and others ₹900) at the time of admission. And from next semester You only need to pay ₹6000 (tuition fee) per semester. Means ₹12000 per year. If you are a TFW student then you don't have to pay any tuition fee just ₹7000 (Tuition fee ₹00.0, admission fee ₹1000, Development fee ₹2200, Registration fee ₹500, Caution fee ₹300, Library Caution fee ₹2000, I'd card fee ₹100 and others ₹900) at the time of admission. The fees is same now from when I taken admission. There is a scholarship svmcm which you can apply after admission (eligibility minimum 60% marks in boards exam). You will get ₹60000 per year with this scholarship. I think as a government college it is worth money.
