With a JEE Main rank of 686,220 , it's very unlikely to secure admission in competitive government engineering colleges like Government Engineering College, Bhavnagar or Government Engineering College, Ajmer , where even the least competitive branches have closing ranks in the hundreds to low thousands —for example, IT at Bhavnagar had closing ranks around 22,332 (All India) and 34,161 (Home State) in 2025 (https://collegedunia.com/college/28236-government-engineering-college-gec-bhavnagar/jee-main-2025-cutoff?utm_source=chatgpt.com) .

Recommendation: You’re more likely to find seats in state-level or less competitive government colleges through entrance exams like GUJCET or REAP (depending on your state). These options may include branches like IT or EEE and typically offer affordable fee structures. Consider using tools like the Careers360 college predictor to explore affordable colleges with realistic cutoffs and good placements

Kcet code for the government engineering college which is located in Kushalnagar is E127 for the latest update you need to visit their official website and if you need details for counselling you can see updates about the college in the website service

If you're going for the Special OJEE round and you're from the SC category , a safe rank for getting into a government engineering college would be anything around 1.6 to 1.75 lakh or better . Honestly, even a bit higher than that might still get you a seat—especially in branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical , since they usually have seats left in the special round.

These rounds mostly fill up leftover seats, so if you’re okay with slightly less popular branches, your chances are definitely there. Just make sure to lock your choices smartly and don’t wait till the last minute.

Hii,

If you belongs to  general category and your rank is 3221, you actually stand a decent chance of securing admission in Mechanical Engineering in many government engineering colleges, especially if you’re applying through a state-level counselling process where the total number of seats is higher.

While this branch is in demand, the competition for it isn’t as intense as Computer Science or Electronics in many states. So, a rank around 3200 is considered strong for mechanical in most counselling rounds especially if you have filled in your choices wisely during the option entry process.

Thank you

Hi dear candidate,

With the CRL rank of 728867 and SC rank of 59006, your admission in top government colleges like IITs or NITs is difficult especially in very competitive branches like CSE and AI/ML, as these colleges have much lower cut off than your rank.

You can get admission in newly established NITs like NIT Mizoram or NIT Sikkim in the north eastern states but still your admission is not guaranteed.

You should try in government funded colleges (GFTIs) or state level government colleges as you have high chances there with core branches like electrical, mechanical etc.

GFTIs: Assam University, Birla Institute of Technology (Ranchi) etc.

State level: DTU Delhi, NSUT Delhi, JNTU (Andhra/ Telangana) etc.

However, you may get a seat in other government colleges like Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode, or Wayanad, especially in later rounds or if you belong to a reserved category .
