Gangamai College of Engineering, Dhule Admission Process

GCED is a reputed institute having undergraduate and postgraduate professional engineering programs. The college is approved by AICTE and having a centralized admission process based on entrance tests. GCED typically carries out an admission cycle that coincides with the academic year; this year usually begins from August-September. GCED accepts scores from two famous entrance tests known as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). JEE Main is usually held January and April and MHT CET conducted in April-May in first half of the year.

Undergraduate programs at GCED require students who complete at least their O-levels and complete the 10+2 or the equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as compulsory subjects. The cutoff marks required for these programs vary from year to year according to the performance of candidates in entrance examinations and number of seats available for that year. Factors affecting the eligibility of students for admission in postgraduate courses, especially M.Tech courses, include entrance examination scores, which relate most closely to the relevant area of study, as well as academic records.

      Application Process

Application at Gangamai College of Engineering, Dhule will depend on the particular program and which entrance test has to be taken. General process in application goes like this:

      1. Appear for appropriate entrance examinations for B.Tech programs (JEE Main or MHT CET).

      2. Register for the DTE centralization for Maharashtra admission process (CAP).

      3. Complete the DTE online application with personal details, qualifications and entry exam scores.

4.Upload all necessary documents which would typically include

      • 10th Standard and 12th Mark Sheets
      • Entrance exam scorecard
      • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
      • Category certificate (if applicable)
      • Any other relevant certificates as specifically laid down by DTE

      5. Pay application fees as prescribed by DTE.

      6. The candidates are to attend the verification of documents in the counseling process and allotting the seats based on merit and preference.

      7. In case of allotment of the seat in GCED, candidates should come report in the institute for further admission obligations, including the verification of documents, payment of college fees, a medical check-up (wherever applicable), and submission of original documents.

      8. Admission to the Institute level may then require an application to GCED by candidates to an empty seat. This could include a standalone application process

      • which entails completing and submitting an application specific to the college
      • along with the submission of necessary accompanying documentation,
      • payment of an application fee, and
      • participating in meeting and/or interview as scheduled by the college.

As with all the other procedures and requirements, the specifics might change every year. Hence, prospective students are continuously advised to visit the official website of GCED and DTE Maharashtra frequently for updated information regarding application procedures and dates set by the universities.

      Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Tech: There are five B.Tech programs at GCED: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. All five programs are of a duration of 4 years. The prime criterion for getting into these programs seems to be the marks achieved by the candidate, either in JEE Main or in the MHT-CET examination. Below are the total intake numbers for each B.Tech program:

      1. Computer Engineering - 120
      2. Civil Engineering - 30
      3. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - 60
      4. Mechanical Engineering - 60
      5. Electrical Engineering - 60

Institute-level seats, which remained vacant during the DTE Common Admission Process (CAP) rounds, are now opened for applicants who did not appear for the MHT-CET or who had JEE scores that were invalid.

M.Tech: GCED only has one such specialized course, which is M. Tech in the area of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, with an intake of 18 students. The GATE score may be taken into account in the admission procedure of M. Tech, but it lacks much specificity.

MBA: There is also an MBA, which also has 60 seats in the college. Not much has been specified about the admissions procedure, but it seems to be following some management entrance exams.
