The washrooms are very dirty. There is no water at all. They are stinky. People go to restaurants to pee. Moreover, there are very few classes and too many students. Disgusting infrastructure. And yes, no network at all!!!!!!!
Good academics.. you will be exposed to many new topics and research competitions. You can learn a lot from your teachers and future prospects are good after graduation from Gargi. So think before taking admission
Placements are fine but don't expect a lot. Average package is 4lpa for most courses but one or two companies offer 18-19 lakh per annum. Placement cell works hard but expect a job. Not everyone gets a job.
Very less fees
Very good exposure
Overall infrastructure of college is all good equiped with big library, auditorium, audifoyer, various well maintained gardens. facility is not available. Network issues are frequently faced by students.
Definitely you can except a great learning experience well qualified and skilled teachers. Curriculum are aimed towards practical training if the students for the real world and develop overall personality.
I myself haven't been a part of the placement cell. But I know that placement cell is always updated and helps students with various programs and all. Many students got placements from college itself.
B.A. Programme annual fees in Gargi College is about 12000-13000. It definitely worth the money you get all what it takes for overall personality development of an individual. Good learning experience.
Different societies and clubs let you enhance your talents. There are Dancing and music societies for both classical and western. NSS unit, NCC and Eco-Club. Big playground. Various beautiful gardens.
Overall I the college is worth it. One of the best colleges of University of Delhi. You can expect high class teaching, societies and clubs to enhance your personalities. You can cherish different fests in college.
It goods as it gives you a feeling of ancient historic places as it was made before the independence period. Everything is quite nice. Well equipped classes, clean surrounding, Nescafé, good environment. In addition to it, peeps are following a sustainable and clean environment method as possible as they can.
I am currently doing Ba programme in Economics and political science. Even though, I haven’t visited my campus yet due to pandemic. But still during the online mode, the study is quite good. Our professors understand the circumstances we all are facing. So, they are lenient but this is one of the drawback for us as we are not able to get prepare for real life struggles and jobs. We are totally dependent on books and online mode. There is no on-the-job training for us to get experience and learn.
Not experienced the placement cell but yes, the placement is good as I have seen a good number of people getting placements in good companies with a good learning and healthy skills. And you will get to know lots of things even from outside of the placement wings. But if you are good enough to learn things then it’s a good to go.
It’s good
I haven’t visited the campus yet but yes the environment is quite good just a network connectivity issues is a little troublesome.
It has a well built infrastructure, equipped with all sought facilities. Wi-fi connection is usually weak and sometimes one can only make calls but no internet related work is possible. The college provide vast library which can be accessed online too. It has big sports field with state and national level participation of trained students. There is no hostel facility. And for food , one can visit diggin which serves mind blowing snacks.
I am pursuing BA (History + Political science). It's a wholesome course for those who are interested in civil service. The professors are helpful and always there to solve your doubts. There can be more than one teacher for the same subject. The teacher sometimes share good read articles concerning to the recent developments in the field. I am not sure about being job ready just after completing graduation. It needs more than that to prepare for civil service.
As comapred to the top colleges of Delhi University, the placements of Gargi are not that impressive. The highest placement can reach upto 8-9 lacs with 4.5 lacs to be the average placement. Hope there will be better placements in future.
For my course the fee was ₹12295/- per year. Getting top quality education from this sum is indeed a benficial deal. Apart from standard education, there are a variety of extra curricular activities and social outreach programs. So overall it's worthy price.
Gargi has one of the best campus among du colleges. The environment is safe and there are a lot of engageworthy activities. It gives you the platform to find your hidden talent. There are societies related to drama, art, literature , photography and many more. It's located in one of the sophisticated and safe areas of delhi . Teachers are friendly and understanding.
It's one of the best girls college of Delhi University. Whether it's sports, social events ,fests or any other extra curricular activity, the college always stands impressive in every field.
Infrastructure of college includes Gargi auditorium and seminar hall with the seating capacity of 750 and 150 respectively. It has an on campus Book Store and two of the the bioinformatics infrastructures facility e is present in Gargi College. We have an open theatre, medical hall and canteen area. Our college has a total of 3 computer labs including 110 computer systems and various other laboratories of zoology, botany, chemistry, elementary education, microbiology etc.
It has a good overall ranking (NIRF-16) among various DU colleges. It is one of the top girls college under DU. Gargi is ranked 9th for Arts by India Today. It has 99% pass score in which 45 to 50% students get first division and on an average 10 of the students obtain position under top 3 of the the University of Delhi and 35 students under top 50 of South Campus. College offers various disciplines be it arts, commerce or Science.
The working of placement cell at the college is also commendable, it offers students to learn and acquire different skills and work on increasing their knowledge. And they get to work under the guidance of prominent companies. For eg.Klynveld Peat Main Goerdeler (KPMG), New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV), Deloitte, etc. and also get an opportunity to do internships under different companies on part - time basis.
My course B.A prog (Economics + Political Science) is cost effective. The amount is very reasonable ,it's under 12k per annum. And yes I feel like it's worth every penny .
I have been a student of Gargi for past one year and my overall experience states that it gives optimal chance to work on ourselves be it academics, sports or cultural activities. There is leniency in attendance but don't confuse it with bunking your lectures. We get adequate time to complete our assignments. It has one of the best teaching and non teaching staff. We have a student dealing department. Are colleges located in South Delhi Fort Road Institutional Area.
Overall it is one of the best college in in every possible way. If you are coming from a co-ed School, it might seem difficult in the beginning to hang but eventually you will be fine with that and enjoy the life to the fullest. It gives you the the best insights and experiences of life. There are various opportunities to excel beyond acadamics by participating in in different clubs like the dance club, singing club , acting club, National social security club etc.
Gargi College is one of the best colleges at the University of Delhi when it comes to infrastructure as it offers all the required facilities a college must provide. Apart from the greenery, the clean surroundings and the well-maintained red-brick buildings, the college has a huge auditorium hall, lecture halls, a wonderful library that also provides free online access, a cafeteria well-known in all of DU and a number of other things. The college has an overall amazing ambience.
The course that I opted for is BA in Political Science and Philosophy. The teachers have been extremely helpful in helping understand the topics, gathering resources and study material and solving students' doubts. My course requires students to engage in active discussion and debate which teachers have always encouraged. My experience here is based on the online mode of teaching but I'm sure the same level is maintained even in offline, on-campus classes.
Due to the situation presented by COVID-19, I've spent my first year of college in an online mode. As a result of this, I have not engaged much with the Placement Cell of our college but I know that the Placement Cell has been very active in spreading important information regarding job openings/internships to all the students. The students currently in their third year of college may have a better idea about the quality of placements in Gargi College.
Gargi College, being a government college, charges way less for its courses as compared to other private colleges in India. My fees for my course per annum is around Rs.12,500 which is quite affordable for people from all backgrounds; if not, then the college offers options of fee reduction, scholarships etc. The great thing that needs to be addressed here is that it is a college which will provide one with as good education and exposure as any other college but with much less fees.
Based on the experiences of students who have studied on campus, Gargi College offers one of the most lively campus environments in DU. There are many fests that take place, some of them are permanent and take place every year such as Reverie. Being a college with umpteen number of societies/clubs, there is some activity happening almost all the time in the college. The location of the college is considered safe as it comes under one of the posh areas of New Delhi.
This review is based on my experience as a student who is studying in an online mode so it must be noted that Gargi College has managed to do a wonderful job in keeping the spirits of the student up during such times. With a very active mechanism between the principal, teachers and students, the spread of misinformation, confusion and a situation of pandemonium has been avoided. Teachers, in particular, must be commended for always been there for the students.
Gargi college classes are well-maintained. College is covered with the beautiful surrounding. There are different types of plants and flowers. Canteen are is so much clean. Yes the canteen food is hygienic.
I am studying in BA hindi+Political science in first year in gargi college.I want to Crack upse exam so I choose Political science and my favorite subject is hindi. So I choose hindi+Political science.
In all over Delhi University gargi college is so much famous for its placements. Many students take interest in the placements. Placements helps to increase the qualities in the students. Placements also helps in the future jobs.
My course cost 12,000 per year.I am satisfied with the cost of my course. Yes,I feel I am getting my money worth.
Due to covid I didn't visit my college campus but I have seen it on zoom,Google and other sites also. Staff is so much supportive. The help every student. College campus is very safe for the girls. The surrounding of the college is soo much safe and students are well-mannered.
Since I haven't visited the campus yet, so I can't tell anything by my personal experience but yaa seniors have told us that the campus is bug and beautiful with red bricks with all the facilities one craves for in a college. But there is a lot of wifi and network issue inside the campus.
As far as the faculty is concerned..... Teachers have been really helpful in this pandemic situations and unlike few colleges... Our teachers have respected our personal space. It has been really difficult for us to study in this online mode but the teachers have put a lot of effort in giving us quality education.
The college gives descent placement only if one is ready and capable enough to grab any opportunity that come in her way. Though being a first year student I am not fully aware of the placement procedure and packages, I am well known to the quality of exposure our college gives which is very helpful in cracking any interview.
Haven't been to college
It has a good infrastructure. The building is great. It has library and and importantly an auditorium. Since kost of the college in Delhi University do not have audis. It has garden where students can hangout with each other. The canteen is great.
Teachers and acidic facility is great. Every teacher puts their best efforts in teaching. They teach as per the curriculum. Most of the teachers have done their PDH or masters. They are very friendly and supportive.
Since, I am in my 2nd year, I do not have much idea about placements. However, I have heard that Gargi College has good placement rates. This year the college has received good placement rates despite the ongoing covid pandemic in the country. The highest package offered is 6 lakes.
College fee is very less in comparison to those private colleges. Students have to pay 15000 approx for bcom hons course.
I have not been to my college yet. So i can not say much about the campus life. I completed my first without visiting to the college. However, as I have I heard from seniors tthe campus life is fun. Students are very friendly and supportive. There are societies and fests which increases your extracurricular.
I have yet visited my college. My whole first year went during pandemic. However, campus life is great as heard from seniors
The lab facilities, library and sports centres are well equipped and maintained very efficiently. College doesn't have its own hostel facilities. The campus is spacious and has some lovely spots in its gardens to spend time during breaks. In addition to a vast ground, there is a basketball court, tennis court as well as a cricket practicing nets. College has a spacious AC auditorium and a neat canteen with some delicious menu. Its masala dose and maggi counter are the best sellers.
I am a student of B.Sc Mathematics (honours) at Gargi College. The department faculty at my college is experienced and well versed in the subject. Hence I have always been very comfortable and my love for the subject has increased only. Teachers regularly update us with the curriculum and any changes as per University guidelines. Accordingly they provide study materials too. Especially during the online study system, my teachers forwarded us with the all the prescribed texts in the syllabus.
The Placement cell at Gargi College is one of the best in the University. Every year, students from all streams get placed at some of the bug companies like KPMG, Accenture etc. The placement process is very meticulate and the cell is extremely supportive and helpful too. Though some of the best offers go for students of Economic honours or B.com honours, students of all streams are availed several offers too. Throughout the year, many internship opportunities are also available.
Since it is a college under the central university, college fees are very affordable. My course fee is around 13,000 to 15,000 per year. Indeed, Gargi is a perfect place for your academis as well as co corricular activities.
Gargi College is an all girls college. But it is one of the most empowered places where you can engage in several co- curricular activities. There are so many societies for dance, music, drama, street play, art, literature etc that can help you to horn your talents and skills while you are in college. The student and teachers here are definitely very supportive. The college is situated in a very safe location in South Delwhere transportation is readily available close proximity of metro stations
Gargi College is a 6 day working college including Saturday. We have stationary shop and an ATM available in the campus. Well, if you are under the myth that all girls college is boring, then let me break that for you. Gargi College is one of the most fun places. You will find yourself extremely comfortable and empowered. I found Gargi a safe place to develop my academics as well as personality.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, New Delhi, will be the best option among the Gargi, ARSD, and Khalsa College if the distance is not the parameter.
SGTB Khalsa College is the oldest college with the best infrastructure and phenomenal teaching faculty. Every facility is available in this college.
For Maths Hons, I suggest you prefer SGTB Khalsa over other colleges; else, ARSD is not a bad option.
