Institute of Management Studies, BHU (formerly Faculty of Management Studies) provides one of the best platforms for an overall development of a student. It has got everything that a student expects from a management institute. The campus is full of greenery with over 1400 acres of land area. It also has one of the biggest libraries in India with over 6 Lakh books and a small library in the institute itself that provides a number of options for any student to get updated to the current news and current affairs. The events organized are pretty amazing with the awesome crowd that prepares a student for future corporate life. Fees charged is almost negligible as compared to other management colleges. As far as placements are concerned, the packages offered by the companies is quite satisfactory that makes it one of the best institutes regarding ROI. The faculty is highly qualified and friendly that makes the student-teacher relationship very conducive. BHU witnesses a very wide of students from all over the world. Overall, the life at IM-BHU is amazing and your life will be full of awesome memories.

Good opportunity of doing MBA

FMS,BHU has a good infrastructure, highly experienced faculty, the only problem you get here is the semester system gives you more time to relax and of course being in Varanasi has come problems in the extent of Industry exposure, so that you have to take care of on your own. Apart from this, the ROI is very high. Moreover, the experience to be a part of an institution like BHU is a marvellous experience in itself!

can i get admission with 60 %ile in CAT and 60 % in other academic for SC Category

Niveditha 7th Dec, 2019

In order to be eligible for the CAT Exam, the candidate has to pass at least their Bachelor's degree with at least 50% (for General Category and for candidates from the NC-OBC caste). For SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) candidates, the percentage required is 45%.

60 percentile does not fetch you good colleges even if you score 60 percentile because of high level competition. Even though the minimum cut off which IIMs require is 50 percentile ,but this cut off peaks above 90 percentile based on the application pool.

You as a  SC- candidate have to score about 90 percentile and ST- around 81 percentile.

This score is likely to increase with every passing year as more and more candidates apply under this category.

Colleges you can apply for are:

IIM Kozhikhode

MDI Gurgaon

IIM Indore

IIM Shillong

IIM Ranchi/IIM Trichy

IIM Trichy/IIM Ranchi

IIFT Kolkata

IIM Udaipur

IIM Rohtak

IMT Ghaziabad

IIM Kashipur

IIM Raipur

DoMs IIT Madras

IIT Kanpur

Being an SC/ST/OBC does not provide that much of an advantage to you. You still have to work hard.Competition has become really tough and nobody knows the last cutoff for top IIMs. It totally depends on the application pool.  Giving false hopes like I was getting. it's not easy for anybody to reach top!

Best luck...

i just have 51% in my graduation, 81 and 77 in my 10th 12th. can i select in ims bhu at 90%ile in cat

Hey, I scored 80 percentile in CAT and got X/XII/Graduation in 62/77/63 and I am from GENERAL category. Can I get a call from FMS BHU ??

Shruti Jha Student Expert 16th Jun, 2019

Hi Divya,

As you know that getting a seat in bhu for fms is not less then a hustle, people loses their chances even by 1 or 2 marks

As you said you have scored 80 percentile in cat exam its a good score indeed but this time the cutoff percentile for fms bhu is around 84-85, so according candidates with that much percentile will going to get a call for gd and pi rounds.

I just wanna say don't lose hope and try for some other institutions as well as there are many good mba/padma institutions out there too.

Good luck.

Got 61% in CAT X-76%XII-78%category NC-OBCwhat are the chances of getting shortlisted for ims bhu

Mahek 7th May, 2019

Hello Deepali,

Kindly mention your graduation details, too. Since you belong to NC-OBC category, there may be a chance that you can get accepted if you have fared well in GD-PI process. You don’t need to clear a CAT percentile cut off this year, so there’s no saying whether you are a sure shot admit. Rest assured you can hope for the best, as previously, people have been accepted at these scores.
