BE Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2016-01-01
      3.6

      Academics

Academics in chemical engineering is decent. Teachers are mostly PhD holders and experienced, they teach theory well but practicals are less. Syllabus covers chemical processes, enviornment and energy topics good. Some profs are strict, others friendly. We get projects on distillation and heat transfer, helps a bit. But more hands on training needed. Its okay for basics, if you work hard you learn. Not top class but valueable for district level.

      College Infra

The college has really good infrastructure. Big campus with three floors buildings, each block has labs and classrooms well equipped. There are water coolers on every floor, and the whole place is huge to walk around. For chemical engineering, labs have basic equipments like reactors and distillation units, but some old machines need update. its clean and green area, feels nice to study here. Not perfect but better than other local colleges

      Campus Life

Campus life is fun and lively. Big ground for sports, cricket and volleyball common. Events like tech fests and cultural days happen twice year, chemical dept has its own seminars. Hostel food okay, rooms shared but clean. Friends from diff branches, late night studies and canteen chats. Girls safe, ragging low. Feels like family, miss it after grad. Best part of college days here

      Placements

Placements are average, not great. For chemical eng, about 60-70 percent students get job offers from companies like TCS, Wipro and some local firms. Highest package around 5.5 lakhs per year. Training sessions happen but not enough for core chemical jobs. Many go for IT roles. If you have good skills, you place, else struggle. Better than nothing but expect to hunt jobs outside.

      Value For Money

Fees for BE chemical is about 3.66 lakhs total, around 80k per year now. For what you get, its fair but not cheap. Good labs and teachers make it worth, but placements weak so return on money is medium. Scholarships available for locals. Compared to city colleges, cheaper and closer home. If budget tight, think twice, but for quality in yavatmal, its okay value.
