All the aspiring candidates, who desire to take admission in the undergraduate courses offered by the institute have to undergo a common entrance test. The admissions into the courses offered by the GGSIPU is made through NLT-JEE/ CET/ CUET (UG). The candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria before applying for the admissions. Candidates have to appear in the required entrance test and fill the application form of the University. Mere appearing in the test does not entitle them to participate in the University admission process. Selection is based on the merit list.

Admissions into the B.Tech computer science and engineering/ artificial intelligence and machine learning/ mechanical engineering/ electrical engineering programmes offered by the institute is based on the merit of the candidate in the national level test- JEE mains. All applicants are required to appear in Joint Entrance Examination (Mains paper 1), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The University shall not conduct its own common entrance test (CET) for admissions in this particular degree, but shall be utilising the merit of JEE Main Paper 1 for its admissions. The admissions would be based on the merit / rank in the JEE.

For admissions into the Bachelor’s degree, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) conducts its own common entrance test (CET) and also admits students on the basis of merit in the CUET. However, it must be noted that preference is given to CUET scores after the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the university. • Candidates have to visit the official website of the university ipu.ac.in and register themselves on the portal using their email id and mobile number.
• Next, the candidates have to fill in the application form correctly and completely.
• The application form releases in online mode. Candidates can fill the application form using their credentials.
• Fill in all the personal and academic details, upload the scanned documents and choose the preference of the exam centre.
• Candidates have to pay the application fee online through debit card/ credit card/ netbanking, which is ₹1200 for all students.
• Candidates can download the admit card and report for the CET.
• After the declaration of result, candidates who have passed the entrance exam are invited for the counselling session.
• The counselling takes place in an online mode. To participate in the counselling, candidates have to register themselves at the IPU website and then pay the required fee, which is fixed at ₹1000 for all the candidates. 
• The university will announce the seat allotment result in online mode.The seat allotment will be based on marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam. 
• Candidates who secured the seats have to pay a portion of their tuition fee to freeze their seat within the scheduled time.
