      K.J.S.C.E. in a nutshell

      Verified Review
      College Infrastructure

      K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering has 2 buildings, the Aryabhatta (mainly referred as A building) and the Bhaskaracharya ( referred as B building). Both these buildings have a good infrastructure, lifts, laboratories and good classrooms. The classrooms are not lush and do not have air-conditioning facilities, but are well ventilated and create a good atmosphere to study in. The laboratories are equipped with modern technology. Food available in the canteen is hygienic. WiFi is available.

      Academics

There are courses like B.tech. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication and Electronics Engineering. Mechanical Engineering from this college is quite good and the team which takes part in making race cars wins like every year. Other courses are also good. Quality of teaching is average. The curriculum is a bit different from Mumbai University as it is a private college, and gets updated frequently.

      Placements

Placements in this college are good and some tech giants like Oracle, TCS, Microsoft visit every year to place students. The average salary is 5.55 lac per annum. The college has its own placements' cell which helps in prepping up students for placements.

      Value for Money

The fees for my course is roughly 1.8 lac per year, but as this college became a private college, the fees might have been hiked for the next year. The facilities are quite good and the college has a lush green campus with a football field and a basketball, badminton and tennis court as well as indoor sports like carrom as well as a library and computer rooms. As these require high maintenance, I think this college has an average value for money.

      Campus Life

The campus life here is one to look out for. With a football field, a cricket ground, a multi-purpose court, a basketball court, a badminton court, a tennis court as well hostels for lodging, this college has a really great and lush green campus. Various activities, events and fests take place in this campus where students indulge in the best experiences and subtle competition. The environment is peaceful and ventilated.

      Others

This is definitely a great college and is highly recommended as a private college. It ranks among the top engineering colleges in Mumbai. Overall, it is a good college and should be kept on the top half of the list of colleges in Mumbai.
