UPESEAT is conducted by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES). The UPESEAT entrance exam conducted for admission in B.Tech Engineering Programmes. The UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) is held in online mode. The admission of the candidate will now be done based on their performance in the UPESEAT Examination. 80% of seats are reserved for candidates who apply for admission through UPESEAT and 20% seats shall be filled through JEE / Board Merit.

Eligibility Criteria – The minimum eligibility to apply is 50% marks in class 10 and 10+2 along with 50% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects at 10+2 level.For admission through the Non-examination pathway, candidates must have 50% marks in 10+2 as well as in PCM subjects for board merit and 50% marks in 10+2 and PCM subjects for JEE Main merit.The merit of JEE Main will be declared on the website of UPES after the declaration of JEE Main Result. As per the result of JEE Main centralized counselling will be conducted through Merit Ranking.

No, GATE exam is not necessary for admission in M.Tech chemical engineering course at UPES Dehradun. Admission in M.Tech course in UPES is through M.Tech Engineering Entrance Test  and also through GATE. Students will be shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam and the institute will conduct a personal interview for admitting such students.

The schedule for the interview and shortlisted students will be released on UPES official website.

Yes as per the age limit eligibility criteria candidate must be minimum 17 Years old as on December of the admission year. So if you take admission this year by december you will be 17 but you need to qualify the educational criteria which is candidate must have qualified 10+2 from the field in which they wish to apply in CPNET from a recognized board. If these two criteria is met only then you can be able to apply.

5. The last step is to get a preview of your duly filled application form and then, take a print out of it for future reference.


If you are applying for a PG course, your graduation details will be asked.

If you are appearing for Class 12th in 2020, then you don't need to enter its marks.
You will also be asked your Application Pathway - Exam or Non-exam.
If you want to appear for UPES entrance exam, then choose 'Exam' pathway. If you are seeking merit based admission, you select  'Non-exam' pathway.

It provides 94% placements and many companies like wipro, Infosys, TCS, Tata, Mahindra,  Cognizant, intelligence Mordor etc. Visit the campus for recruitment. Placement for the academic session of 2018-19 was 94% in UPES, Dehradun. Out of a total of 3101 students, 2361 were opted for placements out of which, 2223 students got placed. A total of 585 recruiters visited the institute, including companies like Infosys, Deloitte, Amazon and many others. From school of engineering, 805 students out of 1243 got placed. 7% recruiters were for Oil and Gas.
For upstream branch (Oil), the highest package offered was INR 20.6 LPA and average package offered was INR 6.67 LPA by companies like meru and ONGC.
