Infrastructure is good but new building is not open even already prepared New benches is employed recently and Also iimprovement in Toilets available for students Canteen Infrastructure is not so good but college garden is impressive Overall , Infrastructure is keep developing and progressing day by day
I opt b.com (h )because I am Interested in commerce and finance fields Mostly teachers in the college are supportive in nature and relationships between teachers and Student is boosting up day by day Yes , our circulum is updated and includes all the recent developments Financial Management and Corporate Accounting, Taxation and much more subjects delivering much more insights and I am keen to enhance my knowledge for upcoming interviews
ZHDC (Day) is better than rest off CAMPUSES colleges but Everyone is attractive with North campus placement But ZHDC placements is Average not so good 2 to 3 lakh package p.a.Is available for ZHDC Student at placement Overall College is supportive but sometimes may charge irrelevant fees ..recently charge affidavit (with charges ) so that students received their Id cards and this is not good
Around 15000 for b.com (h) courses I think the money I gave to college is not worth it because there is no satisfied placement and references for better job opportunities
According to me ,College Campus is neither best nor worst ..it is just like ohk ohk The best features is scheduled classes is held on scheduled time ..it is good and day by day College garden is improving The worst features is Many old desks is employed till now Activities like dancing NCC ,NSS is keep impressive in the college so students can join the same
Hope so Upcoming ZHDCians must feel proud for College alumni network in future and contribute in future for best and attractive development in college Best wishes for all ZHDCians
Zakir Hussain delhi college is the oldest college in delhi university. Infrasturvture is old and no renovation has done till now. Poor classes and unpaint walls and wooden old benches which are not comfortable.
Academics of zakir husain delhi college is not so good. Professors are old and there is a big deal of assignment and test. Teachers are not concerned about studies and also doesnot help in clearing out doubts.
Placements in zakir hussain delhi college is not appropriate u can expect any placement from this college they do not help in internship or placements and placement cell is not active also in this college
Not value for money
Poor campus life not fun at all no fests
Zakir Husain Delhi College is the oldest college of Delhi University and has old infrastructure. I expected better treatment from this college but the whole college is a mess in itself. There is no security for anyone.
It is a chill college with not much problems related to academics just give time to time assignment practicals and tests. The teachers are experienced and help us in performing good in examinations and test.
Placements of the zakir husain delhi college is not such great as the placement cell is not much active and it confucts only 1 placement frive in a year but no good institutions or companies visit this college
Yes it has the worth which I expected in relation with the fees.
Good
No
Zakir Husain Delhi College has an average infrastructure compared to other colleges of Delhi University. The college has old heritage buildings that give it a traditional charm, but many classrooms and laboratories need renovation and better maintenance. The library is well-stocked and helpful for students, but the lack of hostel facilities is a major drawback. Students usually live in nearby PGs or rented rooms, which increases their expenses. The campus is located in central Delhi, making it easily accessible, though the space is limited and not very mod
Academically, the college maintains a good standard of education. The teachers are qualified, cooperative, and dedicated to helping students understand their subjects well. Regular lectures, internal assessments, and assignments ensure a disciplined study environment. The syllabus is the same as other Delhi University colleges, which gives students a strong foundation in their chosen fields. However, practical exposure and updated teaching tools can still be improved to match the needs of modern education
The placement opportunities in Zakir Husain Delhi College are limited compared to some other reputed colleges. Only a few companies visit the campus for recruitment, and the average salary packages offered are modest. Most students prefer to go for higher studies or search for jobs off-campus. The college’s placement cell tries to arrange internships and workshops, but students need to take their own initiative to gain industry experience and improve their career prospects.
In terms of value for money, the college performs well. The fees are quite affordable, as it is a government institution under Delhi University. Students get a recognized DU degree at a low cost, which is a great advantage for those looking for quality education without spending much. However, due to the lack of hostel facilities and limited placements, students may have to spend extra on living and finding jobs, which slightly reduces the overall return on investment.
Campus life at Zakir Husain Delhi College is vibrant and diverse. Students from different backgrounds study together, creating an energetic and friendly atmosphere. Various cultural events, debates, fests, and student societies keep the campus active throughout the year. Being located in the heart of Delhi, students also get good exposure to city life and opportunities outside the college. However, limited campus space and average infrastructure sometimes restrict activities, but overall, the environment remains positive and engaging.
College infrastructure of zakir hussain delhi college is not good. It is one of the oldest college hence the building is old and doesnot have proper benches and desk and are not comfortable for students.
Academics of zakir hussain delhi college is good as the teachers are experienced as well as guide the students for how to write the papers and provide sufficient study material to the students to study and score well.
Placemsnt of zakir hussain delhi college is average as the placement cell of this college is not so active but only one internship drive takes place in a year for internships and placements for the students
Yes it is value for money if u dont have any other choice
Campus life is also ok.
Good library, old but large collection. Book Bank facility. Multimedia lab.
- Sports fields, auditorium, labs in many departments. Some classrooms are okay.
- New building made, promising design. - New building not yet in use (or only partially). Many classes still in old buildings. Some classrooms are not well maintained.
- Issues: poor ventilation, broken furniture, fans, water supply problems etc.
- No hostel facility. Stay updated on when the new building becomes usable. For now, be ready with own arrangements (PGs etc.). Also, if things like WiFi, labs are lacking, you might need extra effort (self-learning, using internet, possibly labs outside).
The Commerce Department is well-established; the B.Com Honours is sought after.
• Subject coverage is decent, especially for basics in accounting, finance, commerce theory. Students feel that for commerce students, many topics taught align with what’s needed for professional exams like CA / CS etc.
• Teachers are generally well qualified, helpful and approachable. Many reviews mention that faculty knowledge is good. • Some reviews say teaching style is not very engaging; that sometimes the way the professors teach doesn’t help much in understanding difficult topics.
• Latest, more industry-oriented content is less emphasized. Skills like modern analytics, software tools etc. are reportedly not always integrated.
• Attendance, internal assessments matter, strict in some cases; missing classes or labs can hurt.
For some courses (especially commerce / arts) there are placement drives, internship opportunities.
- Companies do visit, though many are smaller or not always relevant to all streams. - In courses like Science there is usually no strong placement support. Students say for many streams, placements are minimal.
- The average package numbers are moderate to low; very few high-package cases.
- Some batches get very few offers. If placements matter to you, check stats for your specific course. Try to connect with seniors to see what they got. Also push the college / placement cell: more workshops, upskilling, invite companies.
For what you're paying (DU govt college), many think ZHDC gives decent returns especially for arts/commerce.
- Faculty mostly helpful. Courses are recognized, degree holds weight. - If your priority is high placements and cutting-edge facilities, you might feel slightly underwhelmed compared to top DU colleges or private ones.
- Hidden costs: PG rent, commuting, maybe paying for lab work outside or for better resources.
- If your course is Science or you need labs, your costs/effort may go up. If money is a concern, ZHDC is still among better govt options. But plan budget for outside classes, commuting, equipment etc. Also try scholarships / grants if available.
The crowd is mixed but many students feel it’s decent. Societies are active in places. Cultural/extra-curricular opportunities exist.
- Value for money is often considered good given being a DU college, govt college.
- Library, green areas and general ambience get positive points from many. - Not much hostel or on-campus accommodation; you’d need PGs / rent.
- Infrastructure discomforts affect campus life (heat, broken furniture etc.).
- Some students complain about canteen food, hygiene, lack of comfort in daily facilities.
- New building delays lead to resource constraints. Best to stay somewhere nearby, so commuting isn’t tough. Engage in societies etc. to make campus life richer. Also, push for student feedback to administration for improving infrastructure.
Taking all that into account, here’s how I see it: If your goal is to get a solid commerce degree, pursue further education (MBA, etc.), or do professional exams (CA / CS) while keeping costs low, then yes, ZHDC is a reasonable option. For many students, it’s a practical and affordable choice. But if your priority is getting top campus placements, or entering high-paying jobs right after undergrad, or having cutting-edge infrastructure / labs / practical exposure,

Hi,
Don’t Judge college by NIRF ranking. all the colleges of Delhi university are equally good. the only things matters is the Crowd and Location. As per my knowledge Location is very good situated in the Heart of New Delhi near Civic Centre near New Delhi Railway station.
Hey Sneha,
According to the rules of Delhi University, if you are eligible for any College according to a particular cutoff and you have not applied for it you will not be given admission to it in that cutoff. But you can apply for college in next cutoff but as
Hi Sutirtha,
You cannot expect to be admitted in Zakir Hussain College on the basis of merit only. If you have An ECA or sports quota then there is some hope for you. If your question remains unanswered or you have any more queries then feel free to ask.
