hello there

answer can vary person to person as per their experience but as for me BIT mesra is better choice than NIT jalandhar . BIT mesra is more reputed and the placements there are compared with IITs ,nit jalandhar is less famous and the placements are also less than bit. however there are some negative points for bit mesra also like higher fees and tough grading . take good time in comparing both the colleges by yourself as you are going to get admissions not others .

best wishes

You should go for NIT JALANDHAR as it is among esteemed institute and has good placements records.

Hi there!

In my opinion,

If you just want the tag of NIT, you may go for NITR, but for a better coding environment,BIT is always a better choice.BIT performs exceptionally well in variour coding contests and is winner of GS We Build Coding Contest 2017,Smart India Hackathon 2017, Amdocs Innovation Challenge 2017.

It produces 3–4 Google Summer Of Code Qualifiers every year. Also, its perfomance in ICPC(considered as Olympics for coding) is way better than NITK.

Now comes most important part, that is placement. In current placement season more than 50 students of CSE(out of 130) have already got a package greater than 20lpa with the average package above 10lpa.

Other than placements, many 3rd year students have got the summer internship and are expecting a ppo.

Companies like Microsoft,Amazon,Goldman Sachs, Direct i, Wallmart Labs visits campus every year for full time jobs as well as summer internship.

Even in further studies, BIT is doing great. Either it is CAT or GATE or MS, BIT have a lot of selections with good rank.

Recently, BIT has started choice based course structure in CSE department. It provides student dozens of subject to choose from according to their choice.

Only problem with BIT is adminstration is not that much supportive which I think is improving.

I think you got all information about BIT.

BIT Mesra and Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology Shibpur both are top rated engineering colleges of India. However, IIEST Shibpur would be better to choose. BIT Mesra have been ranked at 33rd position bye NIRF while IIEST has 21st rank by NIRF. Not only the ranking, but IIEST Shibpur is one of the oldest Institutes of India. Being one of the oldest colleges, the professors are extremely qualified and professional. Computer Science and Engineering is one of the most demanded branches in the field of Engineering and there are vast opportunity in this field. The placements are good for both the Institutes but IIEST has extremely good placement in last few years. Various Multinational companies Microsoft, HSBC, Adobe, Odessa Technologies, Deloitte, Capgemini etc recruit CS engineers. Last year, Information Technology and Computer Science were the branches with most of the placements. So you can go for Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Engineering. Now its upto you and you must think about your passion and interest, all the merits - demerits and take a decision. You should read the students' reviews of both the colleges http://www.careers360.com/university/indian-institute-of-engineering-science-and-technology-shibpur and

Hope you understand this very Well and All the Best..

Hello Aspirant,

According to the category rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs or any other good college as per previous year's cut-offs but I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks. As you are talking about BIT Mesra so there are also very low or no chances based upon this rank.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Dear Aspirant,

What do you meant by extension of the cutoff. The number of seats in the NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, are pretty much same as the last year so you might not expect any change at the top of the hierarchy, you might however, see change in the low side.

For example, 80 percentile generally meant a rank beyond 2 lakh, but this year this would meant a rank less than 2 lakh, around 1.7 lac.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

hi,

see the physics subjects has most topics in electronics and communication engineering, there is concepts of modern physics, electromagnetism, digital electronics, solid state physics etc. in civil engineering branch is more inclined to structural engineering, chemistry and metallurgical sciences. since you are good at mathematics it would be best for you to go for computer science engineering since there is huge concepts of mathematics.

Hello, if you are interested in computer science engineering then you can go for NIT Patna otherwise NIT Jamshedpur or BIT Mesra are very good choices but in my opinion BIT Mesra is the best among the three. It's Nirf ranking is very good, placement are good. And EC is a also a good branch if you are very good in coding then you can take placement in Cs company also. All the best.
Hope this will help you.
