Hello aspirant,

IT and CSE are almost the same but there is difference in the core subjects and their applications

The major  difference between both these field is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to be used in real life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications. In short, Computer Science is the creation of software and hardware by using different programming skills and IT is just the selection of the proper software or hardware for the task.

If you want to go to the field of development, programming or data analysis, you must choose CSE and those interested in finance, defence or such external areas must choose IT.

In every colleges, the cut off for CSE is higher than IT as it has more scope and job opportunities are increasing day by day. In NIT Jalandhar, the last year cut off rank for CSE is 10800 and for IT is 13479. Choose the branch which suits your interest the most.

Hope this was helpful

Hi Student

Since you want  a comparison between courses of same college then i would like to tell you all the streams are good. Your choice should entirely depend on your interest.

For example i am giving you comparison between two streams i.e. CSE and ECE, SO that you can see for yourself.

Since you want to do mba so basically institute doesn't matter it upon on your entrance exam score .

But still go for mnnit allahabad over nit jalandhar

Feelfree to ask

Hello Aspirant,

As per the current scenario and future scope in india CSE is always the best option on any other engineering branch. India is developing country and know due to current scenario in which Chinese app are ban then more and more other Indian apps came which ultimately increases the opportunities and growth in computer science sector .

There is also a planning going on making India's own playstore. So, you can understand how much growth is there.

Now talking about Chemical Engineering it's has scope but outside India. In India, there is not much scope and there is very less growth .

Now talking about College, NIT Jalandhar is also a prestigious institute to do Btech.

I think CSE at NIT Jalandhar is a better option than ECE at MNIT Jaipur. Of course, if MNIT Jaipur is at vicinity of your home, you can prefer it.

Jalandhar located near IT Hubs at Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Noida itself provides a sea of opportunities.Companies like Microsoft, Goldmann Sachs, PwC and Sapient are regular recruiters at NIT Jalandhar.

Dear Aspirant,

As you might know tha CSE branch has always better in terms of overall placements than any branch. So I think you should prefer CSE in NIT Jalandhar than EE in Nit Allahabad because NIT Jalandhar is also good NiT.

Second thing is to follow your interest rather than thinking about placements. So it's totally depends on your preference.

Good Luck for future!!

NIT Jalandhar Mechanical Engineering should be preferred higher than NIT Hamirpur Mechanical Engineering. Vicinity to Industrial hubs around Delhi NCR, Punjab and Haryana, add an advantage to the career prospects post B.Tech ME at NIT Jalandhar.

Major Conglomerates like HERO Group, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are regular recruiters at NIT Jalandhar Mechanical and the median package lies anything between 6-8 LPA. Located near IT Hubs at Chandigarh and Gurgaon/Noida further enhance Non Core/IT/Consultancy Sector prospects.

Secondly the Outlook of NIT Jalandhar is better when Infrastructure, Faculty as well as prospects are considered.

College Infrastructure

NIT Jalandhar has good infrastructure with well-developed labs and classrooms. There are three hostels for first-year students: BH1, BH2, and BH5. BH1 and BH2 are better than BH5 because the food and facilities are much better in BH1 and BH2, but BH1 and BH2 are four-seater, while BH5 is a two-seater.

Overall college is to good
