Hi.

Allow me to explain the process, when a student accepts seat in JOSAA Counselling he/she has to pay Rs.15000 (for SC student) and then accept the seat through process mentioned.

This Rs. 15000 will be compensated in the first year semester fees, provided there are no illegal documentation involved and seat is not cancelled.

But if the student wishes to participate in CSAB Round WHILE RETAINING their JOSAA seat they are allowed to keep their original seat. During CSAB, your seat will only be upgraded and will not be forfeited. To participate in CSAB rounds you need to pay some amount of money again assume it is Rs. 10000 (assuming because as of now CSAB has not announced the official rule set for 2021 session) and you get a new seat within the same college or any other college as per your preference. Now you have paid 15000 (JOSAA) + 10000(CSAB) = 25000 this amount will be adjusted in your first semester fees and you will be required to only pay the remaining.

Good Luck

ALL THE BEST! WORK HARD !!

Hey buddy..

IIEST Shibpur is an "Indian Institute" and an INI like IITs / IISc while NITs are "National Institutes" having a Lower Budget than IIEST. IIEST is considered Higher Level Institute than NITs and accordingly Govt. of India has sanctioned Higher Budget for IIEST similar to IITs but Higher than NITs. Hope now you understand the Difference between an "Indian Institute" and a "National Institute".

Currently MHRD / NIRF Ranking has placed IIEST at "7th by Research Parameter" and 20th overall placing IIEST Above almost All NITs except two or three very old NITs. Naturally IIEST is Better than All the NITs you have mentioned for B.Tech / M.Tech and particularly for M.Tech considering Research. By Research IIEST is just after six old IITs and Above All other IITs and NIITs taken together.
I would place Old IITs / IIEST / Old NITs/ New IITs / New NITs as shown below.

1. Six Old IITs - They are The Best in India and Comparable with Bests in the World.

2. IIEST - Ranked 7th in Research by MHRD / NIRF - Just after six old IITs and Above All NITs. Check Wikipedia / MHRD / NIRF ( Research Parameter) .

3. New IITs - They are Above most of the NITs except may be few Old NITs. But New IITs will be Above All new and old NITs very soon.

4. Old NITs - Better than few New IITs but Above All New NITs

5. New NITs

Please select your college keeping above ranking in view. In IIEST you will get help from its "Global Alumni Association" having Seven Chapters in USA ( New York / Chicago / California / Washington etc.) only apart from several Alumni Chapters in London / Singapore / Canada / Europe / Australia / New Zealand / Middle East etc. as also Chapters in almost all the major cities in India. IIEST Alumni offers many Scholarships / Fellowships / Internships / Research & Travel Grants to B.Tech / M.Tech students for higher studies / research in India / USA / UK / Europe.
So IIEST Shibpur may be the Best Choice for you.

Wish You Best of Luck…

Hello,

Last year a candidate with rank 27964 secured admission to Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur under General (Female) Other state category in the last round of JoSAA counselling. Considering the previous year cut off you have decent chances to get seat in ETE in the preferred institute. The cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

IIEST Shibpur IT seems the best Option from your above mentioned choices. One of the Oldest Technical Institutes in India, IIEST has excellent faculty, infrastructure, strong curriculum as well as excellent Placements as far as CSE/IT is concerned. Incase youre inclined towards research, there can be no better place than IIEST Shibpur. IIEST is perhaps only some of the few technical institutes with an excellently strong Alumini Base, a strong Academic and Employer Outlook. Ofcourse, if youre obsessed with the NIT Tag as well as CSE Stream, NIT Patna.. Do even check if youre getting CSE/IT/ECE at BIT Mesra, that too is an excellent option, much better than Average NITs.

Hello,

Last year a candidate with rank 694 belonging to OBC-NCL category ( other state) secured admission to Architecture, Town and Regional Planning in Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. And a candidate with rank 2195 belonging to OBC-NCL category (Home state) secured admission to Architecture, Town and Regional Planning. Considering the previous year cut off you do not have chances to get seat in Architecture, Town and Regional Planning in the preferred institute.

Cut off depends on factors such as total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. So it may increase or decrease this year based on above mentioned factors.

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you want to know about the cut offs for the dual degree at iiest shibpur so let me tell you that iiest shibpur doesn't offer dual degree . If offers only 4 year b.tech degree in computer science branch and other engineering branches.

Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

For more information you can check out the link given below-

College Infrastructure

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology situated in Shibpur Having good infrastructure.Certainly lacks the facility & infrastructure of a top notch institute (refers to my dept.-archi), and heard a lot of complaints from my B.Tech friends about the placement department, which I presume is true to a large extent, although the new INI tag will be able to solve the problem, hopefully. But, students here get one hell of an experience of the hostel life, senior-junior relationship is something we learn to treasure and cherish.

Good college

College Infrastructure

Our college having great infrastructure with all the facilities are available. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.

It was pretty good experience.

College Infrastructure

Great Infrastructure but placements should be improved as there was no placement in 2020 for Applied Geology. I am pretty sure the engineering departments are very much good at infrastructure but the university authorities must pay attention t the science departments as well.
