IIT Bhubaneswar All Questions

EEE involves electronics and electrical study while ECE involves study of electronics and some part of communications. In core companies, demand of EEE is more in comparison to ECE. Whereas ECE students can apply for IT companies as well. EEE students don't have much scope in IES while ECE students have. EE- It goes deep into the study of electrical devices such as transformers, generators etc . It deals with the devices which use large power and currents. Difficulty wise: I think EE is a bit tougher than EC.In ECE, the scope to land into government jobs is great. If you choose basically on your interest then you will surely excel there. So, rest is upon you.

Both the IITs are almost comparable and as you have mentioned that you have the same branch choice in both the colleges then it is now more on you into which college you are comfortable studying. According to NIRF ranking IIT Gandhinagar is higher than Bhubaneswar but that difference is not much of difference.

So you could choose Gandhinagar above Bhubaneswar if you want to. Rest is similar in the both IITs.

As far as these two colleges are concerned both are really good IITs. It's relatively tough to choose one but branch you are interested makes it a little simple.

IIT Bhubaneswar is a good choice when you are interested in ECE. IIT dhanbad is good for mining.

Indian institute of Technology Bhubaneswar is one of the finest institutes in India. The Placements are excellent. Many IT companies visit the campus for recruitment. They mainly recruite CS, IT and ECE students. Companies are Infosys, Mahendra, TCS, Deloitte, Amazon,Microsoft, Tata motors, Tata steel,  Altair, TESCO comes for recruitment. 

PLACEMENT STATS OF 2017-18

There is a significant increase in the number of core companies visiting IIT Bhubaneswar. This time more than 50 companies came for recruitment. Although there is no international offer made as CSE being a relatively newer branch here, still the performance of students is on par.

Branch wise Analysis-

1) Computer Science and Engineering -

Highest- 39 LPA

Average – 14 LPA

2) Electrical Engineering –

Highest- 29.6 LPA

Average – 10 LPA

Placement Percentage -83.34%

3) Mechanical Engineering –

Highest- 31.5 LPA

Average – 9.39 LPA

Placement Percentage -91.42%

4) Civil Engineering –

Highest- 7 LPA

Average – 6 LPA

Few things to notice that electrical and mechanical performance is really better than other branches. Also, it was the first passed out batch of metallurgy this year but it has performed quite well. Even CSE second batch passed out this year. IIT Bhubaneswar students have really performed better compared to past performance. This year maybe we can get some international offers.

Note that many students opt for GATE, Civil Services, CAT, startups, higher studies and many other things.

ECE has started recently in IIT Bhubaneswar and no one has yet graduated so the placements can't be judged. But EEE was always there in IIT Bhubaneswar which had a touch of ECE and had good placements from core companies, PSU, software companies for electrical engineer.

IIT Bhubaneswar ECE branch hasn't yet graduated. But the average package for other departments like CSE was around 15 lpa. And around 10 lpa for Electrical Engineering. While the highest package for any branch except CSE (and few non-core branches like petroleum, geology have almost zero future scopes) was 8.5 lpa even for ECE. The average package of IIT Bhubaneswar is much above the highest package of ISM Dhanbad. If you placements are a matter of big concern for you, need not to worry as IIT Bhubaneswar has a lot of opportunities.

             IITs so not conduct spot counseling or something like that. There are limited seats for M. Tech in IITs and it usually fills up by counseling only. IIT Bhubaneswar is a good IIT. You can stick to it.
