The order of preference that I am providing is based on the most important factor i.e. PLACEMENT.

Here is the order of the colleges along with their 2018 average package for CSE branch-

1. NIT Trichy

• Average Package (CSE)- 17 to 20 LPA
• Major Recruiters- Amazon, Goldman-Sachs, Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc.

2. IIT Patna

• Average Package (CSE)- 14.53 LPA
• Major Recruiters- Amazon, Goldman-Sachs, Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc.

3. NSIT, Delhi

• Average Package (CSE)- 12-14 LPA
• Major Recruiters- Amazon, Goldman-Sachs, Microsoft, Airtel, Adobe, etc.

4. DTU, Delhi

• Average Package (CSE)- 12-14 LPA
• Major Recruiters- Amazon, Goldman-Sachs, Microsoft, Airtel, Adobe, etc.

IIT Patna is a better option in every aspect.

Placements of IIT Patna are excellent,  especially of the computer science branch.  If you are good at your academics, then you can easily get a placement with a package of 9 LPA. The average package offered is 7-8 LPA, the highest was 40 LPA. The minimum salary package offered was 6 LPA. The overall campus the highest being 1.5 crores, a job with Google. About 80% of the students can easily get placements. Companies like Amazon, Capgemini, Microsoft, Samsung, L&T and many more.

Infrastructure is brand new. They have tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball court, cricket ground and FB ground. Campus provides free Wi-Fi all over the campus and academic blocks are air conditioned.

No doubt, the faculty is world class, top of all, on par with other IITs. Professors usually use PowerPoint slides to explain but some follow the classical methods.

IIT Dhanbad and IIT Patna both belong to middle tier IITs. But Dhanbad is mostly preferred by students in jossa because IIT Dhanbad is better than IIT Patna in some aspects. 

Here are some comparisons of IIT Dhanbad and IIT patna. 

• The average salary package in IIT dhanbad is higher than IIT patna.
• IIT Dhanbad is better than IIT Patna in terms of research oppurtunities.
• The campus infrastructure of IIT dhanbad beats IIT patna.
• IIT Dhanbad got more PPO's than IIT patna-both jobs and internships.

Both IIT patna and IIT dhanbad are great choice. In IIT dhanbad,The placement percentage is quite high as in most of the IITs. Around 80% of the students in B.Tech programmes get placed. Placement percentage of the branches like mining engineering and computer science is 90% whereas the civil department lacks a bit regarding placements. The highest salary package offered was 36 LPA and was offered to the students of CSE department. 

Infrastructure : The infrastructure of the college is quite good and is still developing. 

On Other hand, IIT patna

Placements in the college are good with an average salary package of 18 LPA being offered. The highest salary package offered this year was 40 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 5 LPA. Google, Microsoft, DE Shaw, Amazon, and other companies with good working environment visit the college for conducting placement drives. Over 90% of the students in both B.Tech and M.Tech courses are placed.

Infrastructure : Labs and classrooms in the college are well-equipped. But there is no auditorium in the campus. Most of the construction is still going on. Hostel rooms are really cramped up.

Yes, of course you can choose IIT Patna as your reporting centre for the verification of documents. The system generally wants the document to be verified at one of the IITs nearest to you, it has no relation in terms of where you gave your Advance Exam.

But it's generally favourable to be in home state for transportation issues, either way, it won't matter.

Hi ! If you ask me then my answer is IIT Guwahati ECE. There is a reason behind it. In IIT Dhanbad cs is not a special branch. EE us not a hot stream in current market due to low level of job prospect. Same m & c in IIT BHU. Now IIT Patna is not a good IIT at all. Left with ECE which is less competitive in nature with evergreen stream. So hope you understand and best of luck to you.
