The college can be compared on the facilities and placements.According to NIRF ranking we consider its facilities and exposure.The NIRF ranking of NIT Rourkela is 16, NIT Warangal 19, NIT Calicut 23,DTU 36.

As you have interest in Computer Science/Coding then in this case college does not matter as in this field only your skills matter.But the better college on NIRF ranking can provide you best/more opportunities to explore.

Now on the basis on placements the average package of NIT Rourkela is 15.18LPA,NIT Warangal 13.3LPA,NIT Calicut 8 LPA,DTU has 16LPA.

Hence on the basis of Placements DTU is best.I still recommend you to go for NIT Rourkela because it provides you more opportunities than DTU.

See, IIIT Hyderabad and NIT Calicut  the both are the top and renowned institution in the whole India. But according to my assumption, IIIT Hyderabad is slightly better than NIT Calicut in case of its magnificent placement wing.

Basically both the institutions have amazing placement record in last few years and the most important thing is many genuinely eminent and highly-esteemed companies come to both college campuses as mass recruiters. Ok I'm providing the placement details of both the instituions very shortly in this regard:

IIIT HYDERABAD:

According to the previous year's placement details, the highest in-campus package in this institution was of 48 lakhs per annum as well as their average package was 21 lpa . The average placement percentages of all the departments of this institution are quite impressive providing around 95-100% jobs offered by both multinational companies and startups and various top roles like data scientists, administrator, designer, tester, analyser, developer, technician, supporter etc are also offered to the candidates there.

see there is no guaranty that you may get a seat in csab round. every year cutoff score changes and it depends on certain factors like number of applicants for any particular course, students category, choice of stream, seat matrix. now it also depends on the number of vacant seat in csab. however it would be best to try for others colleges or counselling process as well apart from josaa and csab.

If 1856 is your obc category rank in jee paper 2 then it is quite impossible for you to get any seat in b.arch in nit calicut in josaa counselling even if you belong from home state quota. And as you have secured 1856 obc ncl rank, then your CRL rank must be around more than 5000.

Even in Csab counselling ( as per seeing the last year cut off trends) there is no chance for you to get nit calicut.

Last year for csab round 1 counselling the cut of closing ranks for architecture courses in your preferred nits for obc candidates on the basis of CRL ranks was :-

NIT CALICUT :-
Home state - 2506
Other state - 2868

And Last year for csab round 2 counselling the cut off closing ranks for architecture courses in nit calicut for obc candidates on the basis of CRL ranks was :-

Other state - 4791 ( for home state, seats were full )

So, as you can see even in csab round you have no chance of getting architecture branch in nit calicut.

And In IIT Dhanbad,ECE department is prestigious department.

Communication lab
Control engineering lab
Digital signal processing lab

And list is goes on
And obviously there a great record for placement in IIT Dhanbad.

NIT Calicut: Department of electronics and communication engineering of college includes major research areas : biomedical signal processing,VLSI architecture for signal processing,Power management IC design,Micro/Nano electro  mechanical system ,etc

There is a very good achievements record of ECE department in project competitions.
In this college also,ECE Department provide well equipped labs facilities: integrated circuit lab,electronics circuit lab,electronics workshop,Communication lab,and list goes on
100+ companies visiting the campus for recruitment, every year.

So, both the colleges have their own popularity,and have their own placement recod.And yes ,ECE department of both the colleges is well reputed actually.If you are ready to take in-depth knowledge of the subjects and you have an interest in that field,then you will definitely give your best whichever college you choose!!!

According to your query, all of these nits being good so to choose one nit over the other ,it doesnt matter. All of these nits have good placements in their respective branches.

But i would personally recommend you if you are getting nit surathkal or warangal then without any doubt you can go for it as the these nits are considered superior to nit Calicut.

NIT Calicut > NIT Nagpur.(in placements and rankings )

But of course decide based on your preference of location and other stuff. You should visit both college websites for your preferences and facilities.
