Hello,
While it is a bit ambiguous with what you are comparing NIT Surathakal Nanotech. But talking in general, these two colleges are more or less in same level. If a company visits either of the two colleges, it generally visits the other too.
Speaking of general placements, past recruiters of both the colleges features traditional heavyweights. Even in the department like nanoscience. You will be having a secured future and can think of other parameters leaving placements aside.
Personally speaking, I going for NIT Surathakal might be a better option keeping in mind it's location and other things.
Hope it helps.
Hi Aysha,
You got 98.4 percentile in JEE main exam, your rank would be approximately in between 1500 to 2000. Also, you can check your expected rank using the formula:
Rank = (100-percentile)*(No. of students appeared for the examination)/100
As the no. of students appeared for Paper 2 are 112680, your rank will be around 1750. On the basis of your percentile, the you will get these college:
National Institute of Technology Calicut
National Institute of Technology Hamirpur
National Institute of Technology Patna
National Institute of Technology Raipur
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

Hello,
Your overall expected rank will be around 48142. The formula to calculate it is (100-your percentile)*869010/100
where 869010= Total number of candidates appeared in JEE Main January session. You have not mentioned if you belong to OBC-NCL or OBC-CL. If you belong to OBC-CL then you are considered as general category candidate. If you belong to OBC-NCL then your category rank is expected to be in between 11000-14000.
In 2019 the cut off was as follows for NIT, Calicut
General
OBC-NCL
So you may not get seat in NIT Calicut if you belong to OBC-CL but if you belong to OBC-NCL you might have slight chances of getting seat in CSE in NIT, Calicut. You don't have chances of getting seat in NIT, Trichy based on previous year cut off. However, cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease slightly.
We have JEE Main college predictor you can use the tool to know the colleges in which you may have chances of getting seat

Hello Arava,
As a ECE student it is better to choose NIT Calicut for Electronics Design and Technology over VLSI at Nagpur because NIT Calicut is one of the best college and it has higher placement percentage then VLSI Nagpur. Average salary offered at NIT Calicut is also more than that offered in VLSI Nagpur. More companies comes to NIT for placement. Second reason is that, NIT Calicut have less fee then VLSI Nagpur.
Thank You,
Hello,
Your expected rank will be around 17727. The formula to calculate the same is (100-your total percentile)*869010/100 where 869010 is the total number of candidates appeared in JEE Main January session. Your rank based on category is expected to be around 3000. In 2019 a candidate belonging to EWS category with rank 632 under other state quota secured seat in NIT, Calicut in CSE and a candidate belonging to the same category under home state quota with 2970 rank secured seat in the same. So if you are home state candidate then you may have chances of getting seat in NIT, Calicut in CSE. You may also have chances of getting seat in Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science Engineering and Production Engineering. However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease slightly.

hello,
I am a student of NIT trichy, B.tech. I will definitely recommend NIT trichy over others, because of its high ranking and it has continued to be the top NIT.
This year, it managed to retain its position and also got a NIRF ranking of 9.
placement statistics are also great. NIT surathkal, the second NIT in terms of rank, can also be considered a good choice for CSE branch.
Hello,
It is not possible to compare between b.des and b.tech cse. Both are completely different fields. Actually it is your personal interest that what is you want to be in future. Both have their own type of succesful phases and possibilities in their own way respectively.
So take the decision as per your own choice.
Hope for the best.
Thank you.
hello
NIT calicut is ranked 3 in NIRF ranking. The infrastructure of the college looks greats. It offers architecture course to the students through the jee main paper-2 examination. According to the passout students from NIT calicut b.arch they said that there will be very less placements to the b.arch students when compared to the engineering students. the placement cell has less number of jobs oppurtinities for the b.arch students. if you are really passionate about the architecture then go with it your talent itself can earn you more.
thank you
We are having good lab facilities, xerox shops, but in hostel canteen facilities are not there. There are canteens in campus, but inside hostel, canteen facility is nill.stationary, xerox facility is there , also study rooms, common room facility is good. But wifi may trouble sometimes ????
One of the largest engineering colleges in Kerala build a long time back standing out in infrastructure and a large campus. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate the large population of students, especially the first year classrooms, seminar halls and auditoriums are the finest. Regular maintainance of living spaces keeps it clean and tidy. Food is good offering us to try a very vast variety of cuisines across India all in one place.
There is not a single facility or infrastructure that I cannot find in the campus. Well equipped and well maintained. No issues with hostel food or hostel services or anything of the sort. Wifi available in almost every spot.
