In 2019 a candidate belonging to EWS category with rank 632 under other state quota secured seat in NIT, Calicut in CSE and a candidate belonging to the same category under home state quota with 2970 rank secured seat in the same. I am a student of NIT trichy, B.tech. I will definitely recommend NIT trichy over others, because of its high ranking and it has continued to be the top NIT.

This year, it managed to retain its position and also got a NIRF ranking of 9.

placement statistics are also great. NIT surathkal, the second NIT in terms of rank, can also be considered a good choice for CSE branch.

It is not possible to compare between b.des and b.tech cse. Both are completely different fields. Actually it is your personal interest that what is you want to  be in future. Both have their own type of succesful phases and possibilities in their own way respectively.

So take the decision as per your own choice.

NIT calicut is ranked 3 in NIRF ranking. The infrastructure of the college looks greats. It offers architecture course to the students through the jee main paper-2 examination. According to the passout students from NIT calicut b.arch they said that there will be very less placements to the b.arch students when compared to the engineering students.  the placement cell has less number of jobs oppurtinities for the b.arch students. if you are really passionate about the architecture then go with it your talent itself can earn you more.

As per the previous year cutoff trends ,the cutoff rank for electrical engineering for general category and home state reservation,22259 which comes nearly to 97 percentile.And for computer science the cutoff rank 11022 which comes nearly to 99 percentile.But the cutoff ranks may vary from year to year.

100 - (your total percentile) 112679 /100
In your case your rank must be around 1104
Cut off vary every year on various factors like the level of question in the entrance examination and total number of applicants in that examination.
As per previous year records its expected that yes you'll get admission in nit calicut with this rank as last year the cut off was 1362.

If you want CSE branch in any of the NITs than you should try to score more than 99.7 percentile if you belongs to general category but if you belongs to some reservation category than you should try to score more than 99.5 percentile.

NIT Calicut offers about 10 BTech course including mechanical engineering also. Jossa have not release the cutoff of JEE main 2020 NIT Calicut yet. Actually the cutoff trend changes every year. So it is quite difficult to tell about that.
