Hii Anurag,

Your score is low.As per the previous years cutoffs you have no chance of getting admission to the good NITs even if you are from SC category. You can apply for lower ranked NITs such as NIT Hamirpur, NIT Durgapur, NIT Andhra Pradesh, etc. You can also prefer for one year drop for the preparations.

Hi Naved, firstly let's check your rank as per your given percentile.Your rank is around 2,30,000. With this rank, it is not only difficult to get admission into Nit Calicut, but it is also difficult for you to qualify Jee mains and sit for Jee advance with this percentile.

According to past years analysis, your rank should be under 5000 for getting admission in NIT Calicut.

You can refer careers360 article listed below for more information.

Hello

As from this year your percentile score will decide your rank. And admission will be based on only your rank.

And cut off vary from branch to branch with category.

You should secure rank under 8-10 thousand ( vary depending upon your category and state) for a core branch and for this you have to score atleast 99.2 + percentile marks.

You can see last year's cut offs ( closing ranks ) and take it as reference using this link:

So good luck

Hello kiran
Actually the competition is very high but you scored the 12th class good score but in jee mains you got less percnetile but by the jee mains official they didn't released the offical cutoff so as of now April session is not yet completed so now i can't predict or tell about chances of getting nit
But i can say if you write april session well so that you can improve or increase your percentile
Good luck

Hello.

Eligibility criteria for admissions to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs has been revised with the MHRD announcing 20 percentile cut-off marks or minimum 75 per cent marks in class XII as the new norm for entry to the institutes of national importance.

The new eligibility criterion for admissions toNITs, IIITs and CFTIs has been announced after MHRD eliminated 40 per cent weightage to class XII board marks in preparing JEE Main Rank List. Till 2016, the JEE Main Rank List would be prepared basis 60 weightage to JEE Main performance and 40 per cent weightage to class XII board marks. Further, the admissions to NITs,IIITsand GFTIs were made on the basis of JEE Main Rank List only. Aspirants from general category only needed 45 per cent marks in each of the subjects in class XII to qualify for admission to these institutes.

Hii Harshita,

Your percentile is good.As per the previous year cutoffs you have a great chance of getting admission to the NIT Calicut. This is a good college and you can also try for other NITs such as NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, NIT Trichy, etc. You can check for Colleges using Gate College predictor.

Hello Fathima,

It would be difficult to tell you the exact admission possibilities as cutoff varies every year depending on the various factors such as difficulty level of the exam, No. Of candidates appeared for the exam, performance of the candidates etc.

The admission in NITs & CFTIs for M.Sc Programmes is through CCMN counselling after clearing IIT JAM Entrance Exam, You can check the detail about the no. of seats & other admission related information with the given below link.

https://university.careers360.com/articles/ccmn

However you can check the previous year cutoff with the given below link if you want to take an idea about IITs admission possibilities.

Good Luck!

Ajit,

Jossa counselling is totally dependent on your preference list. When counselling will start you have to fill your choices according to your preference list. You may/may not be allotted a seat in first round. Suppose you are allotted a seat in first round. Then you have to go to reporting centre and choose the option float.

In the second  round you will be allotted the same seat or the seat which is given priority in your choice filling list and which is above the current seat.

For eg you have 7 choices named as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

In first round you get the seat no.  4 .

Now in second round you will either get seat no. 4 or seat which is above 4(that is 1,2,3).

This process will further continue in next round.

Remember to choose the float option if you want to participate for next round.

And one thing more,  choice below 4( that is 5,6,7) will become useless ,null and void.

As you have given case of NIT CALICUT if you get something else in round 4/5/6/7 you won't be able to get back NIT CALICUT.

If you still have any queries you can ask in comment section.

BTW Dont worry for counseling jossa will conduct two mock counseling round to clear everything.

Hi

According to careers360 JEE rank predictor your approximate rank will be between 120398 to 140398.

Last year in NIT Calicut cutoff for Engineering Physics was

1. For home state 18783.

2. Other state 14913.

So understand right you will not get into NIT Calicut.

As a matter of fact to get admission into NIT a minimum of 96 percentile is needed.
