Hey there
For NIT Jamshedpur if you are from other state then in 2019 it was 14436 in general category and for other state it was 11653. For bit mesra they have spot round also so there are chances of yours getting admission at low ranks also.
Check the cutoff of nit Jamshedpur
Hi Ravi,
You must always choose the stream of your interest first over the college. So firstly decide whether you're more inclined to Mech or Electronics, you probably have to spend the rest of your life in the field. If you're still confused, you need to see the college reputation. Both are excellent and old institutions. Placement wise Jamshedpur is a little better and so is ECE with more job opportunities. However, NIT Calicut is no far behind. So choose wisely based on your priorities.
All the best
Hi Candidate! If we talk about branches CSE branch is most popular branch and you have various career options with this branch. Lot of people from different branches comes to work in IT industry. Metallurgy is not that much popular. But iiit Ranchi does not have its own campus. But nit jameshedpur has. So decide according to your convenience.
Hope it helps you.
Thanks.

Dear Aspirant,
For mechanical you will find it hard as the closing cutoff for mechanical is almost around 8k for the past two years. Moreover, there are no seats available till special round in spot round last year for mechanical.
However, you can hope for Electrical & Electronics engineering in special rounds provided that seats are available till then.
Hope this helps.

Thank You.
Hi,
Yes, If you are satisfied by your branch then I would surely recommend you to freeze your seat because it would be the last round for JOSAA. You have to freeze your seat and not leave it on float. Although you can go for special rounds of counseling which will be held later you may no be able to get this seat.
So just go and freeze your seat.
I hope I was able to clear your query
Thank You
The infrastructure of college and hostels is good .The library, academic buildings, grounds, and labs buildings are very good level. The facility of food in the mess is also good.Medical facilities are available 24/7. There are doctors for concerned about your diseases.
As a adult now pursuing my masters from National Institute Of Technology Jamshedpur. If we have to say something about infrastructure so that is great no doubt all the basic necessities are present in the college whether it be mess, hostel rooms and what not.
A tremendously amazing Institute of india, NIT Jamshedpur is having a beautiful Campus along with smart classrooms , developed laboratories and full wifi facility in the campus. But the mess food is not that much good.
