ApplyRanked amongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings).
hlwo aspirant
hope you are doing well
NIT Silchar is ranked at 46 while NIT Jamshedpur is ranked at 79.
Both the NITs are equally good and have very good facilities and placements. you can take admission in either of them according to the branch you choose.
Please think before you take a branch. If you are interested in mechanical engineering, then please go for NIT Jalandhar mechanical engineering. If you are interested in electrical engineering, then please go for NIT Jamshedpur Electrical Engineering.
National Institute of Technology , Jalandhar has a higher ranking according to NIRF as compared to National Institute of Technology, Silchar.
NIT Silchar is a good decent college with good placements and very good college culture. Placements: Almost 95% of the students got placed from the electronics and communication engineering branch. The highest salary package offered was 18 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA.
but NIT Jalandhar and NIT jamshedpur is not good enough for ECE.
hole this will help you
all the best for your upcoming future
Hello,
There are many factors that effect the cutoff each year and some of those factors are:-
With 90 percentile in jee main ,it hard to get admission in nit college but there are few chances in
NIT Raipur
NIT jaladhar
NIT Durgapur
NIT goa
NIT Meghalaya
NIT Agartala
Other colleges are :-
All the best!!
Hello Shivam,
Congratulations for your result. 92.8 percentile is a good score. It is quite difficult to predict the exact rank as the trends changes every year because it depends on many factors like number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc.
But we can predict your result based on the previous trends. With 92.8 percentile your CRL-AIR will be around 73656 - 82800 and your OBC rank will be around 18000 - 20000. You can verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool which is given below:
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
In order to get a seat in NITs, you need to score at least 95 percentile as per past year trends.
Thus, with 92.8 percentile, chances are quite low for NITs.
If you want to check the list of colleges for which you are eligible, you can go through our college predictor link which is given below:
Thank you and all the best for your future.
Hello Aspirant,
Let me give all your answers in sequence ;-
So If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2021 then according to the marks mentioned by you in the question your percentile and OBC rank are
>>>>>>>> expected to be in the range of 84-90 and 28000-32000 respectively .
Note that the percentile and rank which are predicted are only the expected percentile and rank on the basis of previous year's data so your actual percentile and rank might vary depending upon current factors.
On such OBC rank any of the NIT is tad difficult. But you can go for some other colleges like :-
Sanjivani College of Engineering, Ahmednagar
Bhopal Institute of Technology and Science
Trinity Institute of Innovations in Professional Studies
Barkatullah University Institute of Technology
On such percentile range and being an OBC candidate you have good chances to qualify for JEE-Advance 2022 but still the cutoffs for this year have not released yet officially.
As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2022 result so for now you can get an idea from JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-offs that are enlisted below :-
==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile
==>> GEN-EWS - 66.2214845-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 68.0234447-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Scheduled Caste (SC) - 46.8825338-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 34.6728999 87.8474721 Percentile
==>> PwD - 0.0096375-87.8273359 Percentile
Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2022 but previous year's cut-off.
You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

Hello Aspirant,
See it is quite difficult to tell you an exact figure of your SC rank because it keeps on changing every year depending upon various factors but yes we can help you with approximate figures on the basis of analysis of previous year's data.
So If we go through the analysis of Percentile Vs CRL rank Vs EWS rank for JEE-Main 2021 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL and SC rank are expected to be in the range of 263729 - 296470 and 10000-12000 respectively.
Note that the ranks which are predicted are only the expected ranks on the basis of previous year's data so your actual ranks might vary depending upon current factors.
Based on such rank you have almost no chances for NIT Jamshedpur because the closing SC rank in 2021 was around 8000 in Round 6 of JOSAA counselling.
You can check out previous year's cut-off from the official website given below :-
https://josaa.admissions.nic.in/Counseling/seatallotmentresult/currentorcr.aspx

Till now the official qualifying cut-offs have not been released and the qualifying cut-off percentiles are released along with final result of JEE-Main 2022 which will be released after both the sessions i.e. most probably in August '22.
But o n such percentile, being a SC candidate you have very good chances to qualify for JEE-Advance 2022 but still the cutoffs for this year have not released yet officially.
As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2022 result so for now you can get an idea from JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-offs that are enlisted below :-

Hello Student
As you have got an NIT Jamshedpur so you have to leave the your previous college and with TC and migration from the college to submit it to th NIT Jamshedpur for B.tech course. If there is any shortage of document or in case you have not able to collect the migration or TC certificate from your previous college then you have to apply to the authority of NIT, Jamshedpur for allowing you the time for this purpose to submit the migration and this TC certificate from your previous college.
Hope this will help.

If you are a person who is willing to compromise with cse branch not to vast extent but enough to be satisfied with ece then nit kkr ece is best option and then iiit lucknow IT because its placements have improved vastly over the years then come nit durgapur and jamshedpur both go neck to neck and it depends which one you want to choose and other colleges since they are comparatively newer I wont advice you to go with them as not much information about coding/placements and other things are available about them.
The infrastructure of college and hostels is good .The library, academic buildings, grounds, and labs buildings are very good level. The facility of food in the mess is also good.Medical facilities are available 24/7. There are doctors for concerned about your diseases.
As a adult now pursuing my masters from National Institute Of Technology Jamshedpur. If we have to say something about infrastructure so that is great no doubt all the basic necessities are present in the college whether it be mess, hostel rooms and what not.
A tremendously amazing Institute of india, NIT Jamshedpur is having a beautiful Campus along with smart classrooms , developed laboratories and full wifi facility in the campus. But the mess food is not that much good.
