It is next to impossible for a student with 24.4 percentile in JEE Mains with GEN PWD category and home state qouta to get admission into NIT Jamshedpur. As, NITs cutoff is very much higher than your score. At this much percentile your rank would be somewhere around AIR 777480 - 874000 that makes your entry impossible into NIT Jamshedpur.

NIT Jamshedpur, is perhaps one of the best institutes in Eastern India for Mechanical Engineering, next to IIT Kharagpur and IIEST Shibpur. The institute has good infrastructure, faculty and employer outlook. Unless you are from Home State, you need a Rank of about 20k (GEN), to confirm your seat at NIT JSR Mechanical. Nit Surat is best for b.tech in mechanical engineering. And nit Bhopal and nit jamshedpur are at same level in placements and atmosphere .
The highest package in nit Surat is 39.50 LPA.

According to overall performance you should opt

1. NIT Kurushetra

2. NIT Jamshedpur

3. NIT Agartala

the locking of college preferences has been till 17th november. Hopefully you have filled in the same order. If not you don't have to worry as NIT jamshedpur and agartala are almost similar in all aspacts. The first round allotment will released on 26th november so untill then keep calm.

If you are college specific, then NIT Jamshedpur/ Raipur are better than NIT Srinagar in terms of labs, faculty and ranking.

But if you're branch specific; Then you should CSE Branch as average Package is  7.3 lakhs in Nit Srinagar.

Cse branch has more career options than metallurgy.
