Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology ,Hyderabad is a better option.

The placements are quite good in the college. An average of 67% are placed every year with an average salary of 3.5 LPA. The highest salary package is 9lpa and the lowest salary package is 3 LPA. The core companies like ibm techmahendra ntt data and other come for placements.

The faculty is quite good the professors are very professional and they have completed their Ph.D. from iits and nits. Digital class room is enabled for the students. The faculty of the college is very use for the students. The faculty are very experienced.

Hello Sumit. If you study engineering from any college in India, you can get job anywhere in India in government or even private companies. You should only meet the basic criteria of the company hiring you. Some government companies ask for experience and being from any college does not make a huge difference while hiring employees.

The companies like Raymond, Reliance, Welspun, Vardhaman, Arvind are our major recruiters. The average salary package offered by companies is about 3.5 lakh per annum. It may go up to 4.5 lakh per annum.

As you have mentioned that your general rank is 840 and your branch rank is 281 which indeed is a good rank... 

Now, if you belong to general category it is very tough. last year's fourth round cut off was around 850–900 (164 marks ) . Now, the cutoff changes every year depending on various factors.. So, this year the cutoff might have changed by 10 to 15 marks.... 

So, looking this whole scenario you have decent chances to get mechanical engineering.. But still hope for the best!!!
